Pretty much nothing. Really you should get your money back from Mojang and just play Beta, the newer versions of Minecraft are just a joke and are practically broken.
Join non-cracked servers, support developers, custom skins, unique Minecraft ID so you can have a secured whitelist, and have the best of feeling of actually owning Minecraft, instead of relying on a cracked version to do updates for you.
You should look into some really good vanilla whitelist servers, as stated above. I play on an awesome one called NillaCraft. Basically pure clean minecraft with a big group of great people, no stupid plugins or anything. If you want to check it out just click my banner.
Just bought minecraft today, and I feel ripped off. What can I do that isn't in the cracked edition besides have servers beg me to donate?
Stealing vs. not stealing. Why should you NOT steal when you can just steal?? If you can't come up with a good answer on your own then I don't think we can help you.
Also, there are many server that won't beg you to donate. Find and cherish them if you don't like the monetization (I don't either so I understand that part).

Notch said himself that pirating is not stealing, in his view. You buy Minecraft because you enjoyed it, that's how Notch thinks it should go. You give something a taste of a free product and they'll eventually go around to buy it if you think it's good enough. That's why we have Free2Play models, because it works for many. League of Legends and Team Fortress 2 are great examples, people love the game, lots of them buy stuff even though it's free.
Those that use to play on cracked accounts (I use to be one of these people for a very short amount of time) thought the game was awesome and wanted to unlock the missing features (skins, legit servers, etc.) so they go out and buy the game.
Support the developers to clean up the code mess they created...seems legit.
Notch goes and hates SOPA and says "Piracy isn't stealing" so he cannot complain about cracked versions of Minecraft. Personally I was fine with playing cracked servers and single player for a year before buying the game. Just realize it is only 20 dollars, and now you can make a new skin, and that in a month you won't think about those 20 dollars spent.

I always wanted to argue with a brick wall, I suppose the internet is the second best option.
While I don't consider Piracy theft, it is profiting off of other people's hard work without them earning anything for it, which I think is wrong. It's like if your boss decided not to give you your paycheck. So, a clear conscience, I guess.
Notch himself once said: "Piracy is not stealing."
However, a good way of showing support is to buy the game. I usually get cracked games first, then buy them if I like.

Sigh. Logic fail. "I couldn't do anything I can't do with the illegally cracked version, so what's the point"
Considering the price is for the entire product, not just the parts you can't illegally acquire, I find this logic lacking.

Oh not this post again, piracy isnt stealing......I wish people would educate themselves on these things.
Legit - Appear Socially Acceptable, Skins, Servers
Hey everyone, I'm back!
Thanks for that, now I know who to avoid.
My Survival Journal
There are cracked mod pack launchers for those types of mods as well, I've seen.
Basically, dev support.
