Minecraft has recently sold over seventeen-and-a-half million copies according to a recent report.
It is achieving great sales as it expands to new platforms such as Xbox, and it continues to sell well on PC and mobile devices.
It has immense recognition in the indie game world and is further absorbing consumer respect.
It is growing and expanding at a huge rate.
The real answer is that you, along with a lot of other players who have just gotten bored of playing, are now trying to suggest that your personal waning interest is somehow a reflection on the developers. Both statistics and the continued development of the game prove otherwise.

Minecraft can succeed now, but ANYTHING can fail at any time.
Minecraft is completely not failing, it is one of most successful indie games of all time. With a copy being bought nearly every second, plus the massive work Notch, Jeb and dinnerbone (and some other members of mojang) adding tons of items and blocks plus new back upgrades. Minecraft is no where no able to fail currently.
Unless they add guns and modern technology. Then it's failed.

I wouldn't say failing because the PC has sold 8 million copies and the apple store Minecraft PE alone has sold 5 million copies. The Xbox Version has passed more than black ops I
Also Minecraft wouldn't have come this far without the excellent community and the mods.
Minecraft would just go down If it turned into CityCraft as in pre-generated cities, wars and weapons (Never should happen)

There is no valid reason to believe it will stop selling overnight. "Failing" implies its in the process of falling from grace, which statistically it isn't. Quite the opposite.
I was on minecraft.net and read the description of the Minecraft, which is about five sentences. By the time I was done seven people had bought the game.
No minecraft is not failing. Sure the code is getting a bit sloppy , ie the crappy terrain generator and somewhat pointless items (fireworks anyone?) If anything the only thing that is failing is the community. I go on servers now and it seems there are more griefers then normal players. And the lack of maturity in a community this large is astounding.
The terrain may be fine to you, as it is your personal opinion; however, to many veteran players such as myself we see the terrain generator as extremely lacking.
Well i hope you aren't expecting minecraft to fail, because if that's so,you're pretty lame

Oh no, It just seems that other people think it's failing. I like it a lot.TO EVERYBODY THAT THINKS THAT I THINK MINECRAFT IS FAILING:
I do not think it is failing.
I, personally, do NOT think it's failing.

BUT. Minecraft is becoming a very sloppy game. Has been that way since mid-Beta. People just like that aspect, I guess.

Some people disagree.
Loudly.
