All right, so this is a question in response to this post.
Personally, I wouldn't be able to recover from such loss, and if I lose nearly everything I either delete the world, or go play something else to calm down.
so my question to you is...
what do you do, when you lose everything you have worked so hard to achieve?
To be honest, I haven't had a major loss yet besides a couple of diamond tools or so. I always travel lightly and only bring what I need.
I have plenty of backups of each of my worlds in case something goes wrong, so I can go back to a previous 'version,' if you will.
I tend only to use iron items when I'm in the nether, and save diamond equipment for the end/the wither.
One day i was bored, and made a Hardcore world, Called Bored.
I played normally, made a house, made a farm, and made a mine.
In the mine i found lava caverns, tons of mobs, and little reward.
But i kept mining, and exploring.
Eventually, i found my desire: Diamonds.
Two of 'em
So i made a sword.
I named it Cyanbrand (Elder Scrolls Reference) with an Anvil.
I used it forever. I eventually got some more diamonds and made an Enchanting table.
All of this was on Hardcore.
I enchanted it with Smite 3 and Fire Aspect 1
But, as with all things, it became obsolete. With another sword (Trylindar),
i had better enchantments, and so, i put Cyanbrand in and item frame near my bed.
And, after a long time, i was derping around my house, and decided to use Cyanbrand for old times sake.
While fighting mobs, i stopped looking at his health (Cyanbrand's) and it broke. I had probably infused
it with 3-4 diamonds in its life. All gone. It brought manly tears to my eyes,
After that, i stopped playing. Not at once, but gradually.
I would get on, feel sad, stop playing.
So to answer the question, i couldn't. I was too attached to a digital sword.

My house is made of steel, with paper for doors.
raynbow. gongrats on your 10,000th post.
i'd just start fresh with the house i had already built there. there would be stuff stored in my chest there anyway.

his broke. I'm pretty sure that counts just as well as falling into lava.
I get it though.
