So I was just wondering, how do you find diamond? I'm looking for an extremely effective way to obtain this rare mineral. Even though its not actually that rare, I still would like some other peoples insight on this. Personally, on the PC version I don't get very much, but on the new Xbox 360 Edition, I have lots! When i say lots I mean i have 60 in my "Valuables" chest. I have also made 2 diamond swords (one for my buddy) for a grand total of 64! That's the most i have ever found in one single world across both platforms!. My technique, raid any cave i come across at layer 10-12 (whichever is even with lava level) and to also branch mine, spacing each branch 2 blocks apart. To me this seems to be very efficient as i have found an amazing amount of diamonds that are just lost in between smooth stone blocks. So tell me, how do you find diamonds?
I have Mo' Explosives installed, so I use Nuclear Bombs.
Lol'd, somehow sounds so wrong.
As for me I use tree-branch mining, which in my way is a really quick way to stumble on lots of ore, or a nice ravine of sorts.
There are some tutorials on youtube if youre interested so it isn't hard to learn it.
Do this and then at the middle of the cave you make make a 10x10 room for chests and furnaces at depth y:6-y:13 then make a cave on the side 2x2 then every two block you mine indent the wall 1x1 so you can mine straight out I suggest mining around lava because diamonds form around lava.
Hmm, well thanks for the replies! Personally i think branch/tree mining is the best way, however on my world I have found 30 from cave mining and 34 from branch/tree.
