Lets say your playing Skywars, and you fall in the void. If you shake your mouse super fast, Watchdog gets confused, and brings you back to land, but as a consequence, it gives you damage.
When Watchdog is watching your client (to see if your flying, Macro, or using a modded client) it will spawn an invisible "player" with armor on, to detect. It uses that as "eyes" to watch the Network.
Also, how Watchdog works, is that it will sometimes do some "tests" to see if your hacking. If it wants to see if your using a PvP hack, it will spawn the invisible player I mentioned above. If you crit the player using a hack, it will look at you more in depth. If you immediately start hitting it using Kill Aura, it will mark you down also. It also does some things for Speed and Fly...
It also will count blocks for Reach, but if your ping is horrid, that can be glitched.
Also, Watchdog is like a human. Its a AI, and it learns different hacks. Sometimes, it may think your using a new hack...
Watchdog blocks more undetectable hacks, while NoCheatPlus gets more obvious ones...
Its a big topic... And can be debated. Its one of the best AntiCheats, and it makes mistakes.
Mineplex's AntiCheat also works like Watchdogs, on account of the banwaves. GWEN doesn't learn (to my knowledge) new hacks, but I'm sure it does a good enough job.
AntiCheats can be worked around, and sometimes, if you use a Modded Client, it may mistake you for a hacker... Check Hypixel to make sure what mods are allowed...
Nice explanation. But how come some private or paid hacked client bypass Watchdog altogether?
The reason is that the code that watchdog uses is the same as the normal minecraft client, hacked clients work off that same code they just modify it because it would be hard and tedious to rewrite the minecraft code all over again so they just copy it and modify it, similar to mods. A private or paid client may bypass this because they took the time to put a firewall around the code so that watchdog cannot penetrate that is why they cost money, because it took work to put in the bypassing feature.
It was back when rotating stairs were first implemented and I was on a server and accidentally broke one belonging to someone else's home, replaced it, and logged on a few hours later and was greeted with a ban message. I spoke to one of the admins on their message board and he said that the step was rotated wrongly, that I didn't replace it in the correct position. He overturned my ban and let me off with a warning, but I left the server. I think banning someone over one block being broken is silly, especially when they take the time to fix the damage.
On one other server a few years ago, I joined it and people were being banned left and right, there were more "player has been banned" messages filling up the chat, than people talking. Some of the reasons were inane. "Banned for asking too many questions" "Banned for idling too long" "Banned for one block towers" "Banned for picking flowers" "Banned for swimming instead of using a boat" and I'm not joking, those are a few of the ban reasons I remember. I left the server. It went down a few months later. Not surprised...

Hey man at least he let you back on there are examples of people doing great things for a server and then getting banned forever.

some one must have been dumb to do so, at least it wasn't me.
Once I got banned from a server for walking in spawn......... They unbanned me I think.....
Can someone enlighten me on how to avoid walking in spawn? Do they ban everybody who logs on for the first time? That'd be a nice introduction.
"Welcome to our server. You're banned!"
Maybe he re-entered spawn
