There's several programs out there that allow you to backdate your jar file.
You should probably keep backups of your bin folder (not just jar since the other files change as well) for each version so you don't have this problem again.
MCNostalgia is really good. I don't think it's got the newer update listed yet though - I will check.
Just for next time, always keep a safe backup of your .minecraft folder, okay?

Just be aware also that it is illegal to distribute your jar files, so it's not likely anyone will offer anything up
Thanks mate. I do normally keep a backup of my .minecraft directory, but I jsut got a new SSD, so I deleted a lot of things, including that.
