if you have a mac you know how hard it is to install mods and do things that the pc users can do. do you agree about this problem what should they do to make the game more compatible?????????
I agree with Colllinw24, I have both and its WAY easier to do it on a mac. All you gotta do is download the Unarchiver from the app store, access your minecraft folder by going into finder, pressing go in the top left-middle area, pressing go to folder, and putting ~/Library/Application Support in there. Then you go into your bin, right click your minecraft.jar, open it with the unarchiver, it will make a folder, delete meta-inf, drag the files in there, delete the minecraft.jar and name the folder that was made that has the files in it minecraft.jar I find that way easier than the whole pc rundown that stuff is insane.
This is why people don't like mac users. From square one you're jumping to conclusions and demanding special treatment.
Mac users can do everything pc users can. Barring third party tools like mcedit.
As a mac user, I agree with this. The .jar doesn't change based on what OS you use, so installation of mods is exactly the same. The only difference would be programs to unzip folders and such, but that has little to do with installation of mods . . .

ITS WAY EASIER GUYS. -types out a long overly complex (Ass backwards) process.
Heres what I do. Browse to C:\users\[username]\appdata\roaming\.minecraft\bin
Open the minecraft's main .jar with winrar, select the mod files, add them to the jar. Done.

yes that part is simple but there are other files there not all .class, the other folders a a little more complex to figure out where to put

as do i but i think they need to make a mod installer for mac
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR he could just use the unarchiver, and mac is WAAAAY easier to mod. I am using one now.
Why do you have to use a "Mod Installer"? Modding is actually very easy...
i just find it difficult to figure out where to put some of the files
Try reading the "README" files that you get with the mod you download.

But trust me not all of us are like this =/
ok thanks for the help

I guess its a matter of personal perspective. I've been modding for a while, so the directory / folder structure part comes fairly easily by now.
