So after I downloaded the new update and what not I can't use my old world data anymore. I'm just curious, is there anything I can do to get my old world data working. I've put quite a bit of time and work into the world I'm trying to save and I would like to keep going with it. Any and all help is much appreciated.
I love these kind of people, they don't rage when something bad happens. As for your corrupted worlds, I'm sure I've seen a python script or something that supposedly fixes corrupted worlds, I'm not sure of it though. See what the other forum-goers say about it and that might help.
I'll have to check that script out. I had a back up copy of my worlds saved to my flash drive and everything that I kept for backup just incase I lost the original data. I tried copying that from my flash drive to the file location. When I updated it it's saying that my server is returning an invalid ID and it won't let me connect to my old world anymore. I guess I should've been a bit more specific.
My main concern is a city I've been working on for a few months in the world.
Also I don't think I have the original 1.8 jar anymore. I'll try the script first and see. If that doesn't work is there a way to get a 1.8 jar?
You can also try and use MC-Edit, you might be able to export the city as a schematic, and then import it into a new world. I did have a 1.8 jar on my old computer, but I accidentally deleted it when switching over. Plus, distributing jars is illegal.
My apologies I wasn't aware of that when it comes to jars. Is there a tutorial or anything on the site that I can use to show me how to export the city? Sorry for the noob question I'm still green when it comes to anything other than laying and throwing the blocks down.

I'm sure there's a tutorial on <-- That's what you're looking for.
I've been playing around for awhile in the MC edit trying to save my city and world in general. I have a template made that I can put into the new world, however when I try to import it MC edit keeps locking up on me. Is there a way to copy the world itself without completely locking up the program? At this point I'm not sure what else I can do.
IF you backed up your .jar that is.
