Get an IRL friend to get the game, start a Hamachi server, and beat the game together. It's great fun, either when playing at each other's houses or over Skype.
I think that the problem is that instead of going in the direction of adding more MOBs and ores to mine, they acted like they've done all they need to in that area and added things like mooshrooms and nether fortresses.
Nether fortresses and blazes were a great addition, but I want more ores and MOBs. :sad.gif: In the overworld, we need more night time enemies, and some biome specific MOBs (like crocs in swamps and goats in mountains) as well as enemies in the Nether who make your life miserable. Right now, you can just waltz through the Nether without any trouble until a ghast appears, you hit a zombie pigman, you fall a great height, or you fall into lava. :blink.gif:
Notch claimed to make the game open-source *some* day. I'm really just waiting for that day to inspire myself with his perlin noise algorithm. There are fundamental problems with Minecraft (such as a **** poor networking protocol, **** poor graphics, **** poor server software) which turns me off but I don't mind the building aspect. It's fun hosting a server for minecraft, good experience since there's always problems.
I don't play Minecraft as much as I used to. I aspired to build my one awesome thing, I built it, and then I was like... what now. But in reality, that's what every game is like so I can't complain to much. I do know other people love playing minecraft and come up with really creative stuff and I like helping them build it.
Also, if you play minecraft for the adventure, you should play something else.
I personally think the game is fine, and there have been so many topics saying the exact same thing as you that it's started to get on my nerves, we get it! You're bored of Minecraft! You don't need to tell us!
Minecraft is ruined.....imo

Some aspects you can't even being to touch, such as your creativity.
As long as you can think abstract thoughts, Minecraft shouldn't be boring, because you can always think of something new.
