Which is this blasphemy? Minecraft shouldn' attempt of t to imitate other games. I mean, first it' call following of s then Terraria of having. This is a really deslizadiza hill!
Minecraft was the result of Notch playing a bunch of games like Minecraft, so in terms it is imitating other games.
And please fix your grammar, it makes my eyes bleed.

Dear Internet, I don't mean to sound slutty, but you can use me whenever you want. -Sincerely, Grammar.
1. Terraria is a 2D game, do you know how much easier it is to make a 2D game than a 3D one? Let me tell you, very.
It doesn't matter how hard it is to make. It's the final product's quality.
2. How many people do they have working on Terraria? I would guess more than 5, Minecraft has two, and one of them is always on vacation.
First thing: Terraria is ALSO made by two people.
And it's a ****-poor defense to say that Mojang can't update any faster since they don't have enough people, considering it is WELL, WELL, WELL, within their means to hire at least 10 people to work on Minecraft.
3. Have a look at Minecrafts changelogs when it came out, there were lots of features coming back then, but now, for some reason, they seem to be taking ages to do anything (and one of them is always on vacation)
AGAIN. Using Mojang/Notch's ineptitude is EXACTLY the problem. Hence, Terraria is better, because its devs care more.
4. Terraria hasn't updated for months, far longer than any time between Minecraft releases.
Probably because... let's look at the latest MC releases:
1.4: Wolves. Pink and brown sheep. Cocoa beans. A ton of bugs.
1.5: A super-rushed, crude weather system. Useless e-Viagra achievements. Fancy new rail types... that do jobs that could have already been done with widely-used bugs that Mojang fixed. A couple fancy things involving saplings.
1.6: Nether in MP. A half-assed map system. Grass. Trapdoors. Growing shrooms. Some bug fixes. Even more new bugs.
1.7: Super-nerfed pistons (could have added the mod verbatim). Shears. An obnoxious need to activate TNT with redstone or fire.
1.8: Hoo boy. Get ready for wall of text. 3 new mobs that had virtually no playtesting or rational thought put into them. Melons. Stone bricks. Giant dungeons without any actual incentive to explore. A new, buggy gamemode that could have easily been added LONG before. Empty NPC villages. Lame new biomes. Craptacular changes to weapons, rather than adding new ones or hitboxes. Useless XP. Horribly unbalanced food system. Sprinting. "Colored" light (even though the player can't make their own colored lights, like in Terraria). 3d pig snouts and chest locks.
1.9/1.0.0: Ugly new textures. RPG-cliche potions. RPG-cliche, broken-as-hell enchanting. More half-assed dungeons. A craptacular boss fight and truly awful ending story. Mushroom islands. Crappy new sounds. A completely broken animal feed-n-**** "breeding" system. Completely useless moon phases. Who can forget, MORE BUGS?
The obvious solution is, Terraria is Minecraft inspired, therefore?..
People who say Terraria's better and Minecraft sucks are hypocritical chameleons who agree with the ever changing society, and are not loyal and cling to the "next best thing".
End of.

I love watching people get extremely defensive over this game. It only shows their insecurities about criticism while facing a competitive product. If you truly take pride in the end product you provide, you wouldn't even worry about what your competitors are doing because the quality of your game talks for itself.
The fact that Minecraft in its current state isn't satisfying basic benchmarks of a released game is, well, indeed speaking loud and clear on behalf of the poor development team that encompasses it.
Terraria is better then minecraft in the adventure type thing. If you want to build though minecraft beats Terraria hands down.
Not to say you can't build pretty cool things in terraria :smile.gif:.
Also in price you get one hell of a game for $2.5. :biggrin.gif:
When I play terraria i'm just thinking the whole time like why don't minecraft have this? Such as random things you find in the ground. Chest.. bones whatever. Or glowsticks I don't know about yall but I've been wanting new lighting sources in minecraft forever..
Minecraft isn't adventure, it's a building and creativity game. If you can't be creative enough to build a simple structure I suggest you quit MC and 90% of the existing games.
Well then, couldn't we use comparisons between Terraria and Minecraft as a base for ideas to make Minecraft more enjoyable? Rather than disputing which is better than the other? Then we all go and shove these distilled nitpicks to Mojang!
As as Minecraft fan, I think Terraria is better in terms of general gameplay due to it's completeness of features, equipment variance, persistent characters, and some simple game goals to clear. Terraria is a excellent adventure game. But Terraria for me, failed due to this: Once a map was cleaned out, all reasons to stay on the map went out the window, you had to start a new world.
There are other reasons why I still play Minecraft and not Terraria:
Low character customization - More of a personal opinion there
Not construction oriented - Very adventuring based, construction is more towards providing yourself a shelter and for NPCs too.
Gameplay does not support infinite world - Content in each world doesn't really vary much, also the 2D medium reduces that quality.
What Minecraft needs:
Feature completeness - This includes refinement
Objectives - Where are those prefix mobs? They would make a nice contribution to this!
Equipment Variance - I think this was attempted to be rectified through enchants... I'll want to make a suggestion topic about this.
Now then, compared to other games, what does Minecraft need?

But it's nearly impossible to make very cool buildings in Terratia
