Now we devised a specification for people who like the BETA versions.
These people will call BETANISTS
If you are Betanist type in your Signature: I am Betanist
I'm digging the new terrain generations. I get the crazy generation in almost all biomes with the Hills varients. I also get more natural generation in other areas.
Overall...I think everyone can find something with the current generation.
That said...Oceans do need a little something. I happen to LIKE ocean Biomes. But would like to see a reason to build /explore in the oceans.

Have you played in Beta?
The Beta is better than New terrain!:) :0

nope in defaut do not have mountains and in amplified the mountains make a spam dont have middle is exagerate
Wow, you people just keep on going, don't you!
Minecraft is NOT yours.
You do NOT own minecraft.
You have NO right to tell the developers what to do.
Why don't you go and SUGGEST STUFF instead of whining about it on a dead minecraft forum thread?
The current terrain is fine. Stop complaining. Be grateful that minecraft is still updating and isn't dead. Developers put a lot of hard work into these updates and all you do is bash them for not being exactly what you want!
tl;dr: stop complaining, do something about it instead of crying on a forum that nobody looks on any more.
Oh look! An original post!
/sarcasm
So, it's bad that we want Minecraft to have more varied terrain? Whining and complaining are two different things mind you, ;). I don't see how you plan to get far in an argument if you use ad hominem. We've tried to contact Mojang, prime example being the letter. I lost faith in Mojang to try anything after this update, and many long-time supporters of the thread have as well. Any suggestion that so much hints at criticizing Minecraft on Reddit is downvoted to oblivion by the fanboys. Many of your arguments have been countered in previous pages, but I'm too tired to dig 'em up, k?
tl:dr Insulting the people you argue with won't get you far, contacting Mojang has been fruitless, suggestions on Reddit are downvoted to oblivion, and many long-time supporters believe it is a lost cause, and your arguments have been countered a thousand times before.
I may be newer to Minecraft than some of you here,(1.2.5) but I agree older world generation was better. The new biomes in 1.7 are cool, but they don't stand a chance to older world generation. Until Forge updates, I am not so I can use Better World Gen mod.
I only started in beta 1.5 just before 1.6, so sadly I didn't get the chance to experience the old beta terrain. Last month or so I downgraded to beta to see what it was like, and I was blown away by the savanna biome near spawn! Never have I seen such flat terrain!
I wish Mojang would make the terrain unique like that again. Not like they are going to anyways.

Beta 1.5 or release 1.5? They are different, :). Beta utilized pre B1.8 terrain, ;).
Only really Alpha was radioactive (I'm all for vibrant grass, but Alpha-esque coloring would be annoying after a while). Beta grass was only extraordinarily colorful in rainforests and jungles (then again it's nearly identical to existing coloration), otherwise it was pretty tame and even dull in some places (though usually if it was dull it was covered in snow). It's really more that the current grass color is dull and muted than that Beta had radioactive grass color; the vast majority of it is a dull green or blue, with the only outlier biomes being jungles (which have overly vibrant green grass) and savannas (which have mustard-colored grass).
I agree completely. My post wasn't meant to demonstrate that grass-color used in beta was ugly, but rather grass colormaps without blue are.
Besides, we're not necessarily suggesting radioactive grass color. We're just suggesting grass color that isn't dull and muted. We're also not suggesting grass color that literally has no blue in it, we just don't want large amounts of visually blue grass. Seriously, it makes EH and taiga look infinitely worse in apparently a lot of our eyes.
Does this discussion still need to be bumped? The terrain does appear to no longer be boring...
too many features that beta terrain had dont have in the terrain like beaches color transitions (smooth biome color) the biomes new biomes are stupid and the mountain are too small in the defaut but in the amplified the moutains make spam in your world terrible and this disscution just will stop if the jeb fix it or maybe bring tthe beta terrain with any alteration
edit1: guys i discover that the problem is the color transitions the vibrance of color you can change using resource packs now the transitions are important

That's so sad. Why do people have to be so manipulated by games?

Beta 1.5 did utilise the "old beta terrian".

I understand, it was a mistake on my part.

It still is due to the lack of variety. 1.7 didn't really do much for variety but add more biomes. In other words, virtually nothing.
Alrighty then.
