So I was recently playing alpha and I just thought it looked cooler when all the biomes were kind of mixed, like mountains in forests , forests in plains. But thats just me, what do you think?

Nope. Biomes are awesome. One of it's best features.

Ehh, I guess but the biomes gave Minecraft more variety and 'realism'. Having mixed biomes does allow cool places for homes though.

The distinct mountain/forest/grassland biomes aren't the best.

It would be kinda cool to have a biome that was kinda like the alpha landscape with all the bright green grass and stuff.

I like how now everything kinda makes more sense, but I also liked the areas in alpha where there were forests but they weren't so ridiculously dense. And the neon-green grass and leaves were really cool. ^^

I liked how everything was more random and spread out, and there were a few trees on plains and mountains. I don't like the new biome coding at all.

So, I guess yes. I do agree with you.

I like biomes. Because personally who doesn't love the idea of a snowy mountain base?

thats why notch should re-add winter mode

There are good things about the new biome coding, and there are bad things about it. Not everybody can be pleased, unfortunately. Seeds are so expansive though, I installed fly mod simply to explore the seed, it was really worth it. I've found several indistinct biomes before though, so I think if you really look for a good place, you'll enjoy it more.

I personally like the biomes, but I do agree some of the whacky terrains that used to spawn way back in the day were pretty awesome. I personally really like the swamp biome cause of the vines :tongue.gif:

Lol yeah. And biomes, of all things. Sure the alpha landscape was a mix of a couple features, but I've got forested hills in my world and no reason to complain. The new worldgen makes breathtaking scenery.

My only wish is for a far greater height limit that doesn't require mods.
