I've noticed that when you make a bucket, it is obviously made of 3 iron and can currently hold water, milk and LAVA. Yet when you throw iron into lava, it's destroyed. Weird huh? Anyone agree?
You know what else is weird? If you have a bucket full of lava, and throw it into some water, it stays lava. WTF?!!?
It's a game. It's not supposed to be realistic.

I am the bone of my sword
Steel is my body, and fire is my blood
I have created over a thousand blades
Unknown to death, Nor known to life
Have withstood pain to create many weapons
Yet, those hands will never hold anything
So as I pray, Unlimited Blade Works
Golden pick axe = weak, obsdian = HARD :angry.gif:
That makes absolutely no sense there sir.

Here is why: the inner side of the bucket is made up of a special iron-based material that is formed through the crafting process. It is impervious to all heat, and also creates a field of energy that keeps anything else out of the bucket (hence you can throw a lava bucket into water, and it stays lava). It also does not conduct heat.
However, the outside is made up of regular iron. When thrown into lava, the outside is melted away and it destabilizes the inside, causing the entire thing to be destroyed.
Ok, I guess I understand why Obsidian is hard in minecraft is unrealistic, but in real life, gold is soft a weak.

The really weird thing is, if you place an iron block in lava (rather than dropping it in), it doesn't burn. Wassup with that?
Read this explanation for why buckets work the way they do:

It is similar with iron blocks. When in item form, they are not stabilized. When placed, they become immune to heat.
Yeah. And how the hell you can get 1 cubic meter of wool out of one sheep? And where's the gravity? How does Steve mold 4 diamonds into intact boots? How nights can be always shorter than days? And why they last less that 15 minutes?

Steve? can control the density of objects that he touches, which is why he can mould diamonds.
Moon and sun aren't on the same orbital path, which explains the short day/night cycle, as well as the different lengths.

Of course, I prefer throwing zombies in lava instead.

We were talking about the game.....
So was I.
