Major noob here but I was wondering since an xbox version of the game is being developed (assumed by using silverlight), is a windows phone 7 version also being developed or considered (since they might take less work much like how the original game is java and android port uses java)?
Sorry if this was asked already, only similar thread I found was about the android port and how theres no iOS port.
Well, there's a few Minecraft clones out there already written in XNA, which is also Windows/Xbox/WP7, but faster and more game-focused, so I'd assume that Mojang would go for C# + XNA, which makes it easy to port between Microsoft platforms. However, I think it's more likely that the Minecraft console/portable version will be something like C or C++, since that's more easily portable to iPhone, PS3, 3ds, and Wii, as well as Microsoft's platforms.

Well I'm all for whatever gets me some good games on my phone =p, hopefully once mango is released and sockets are added we'll hear about this?
I kind of doubt it will happen, since mojang is stretched thin as it is. Every platform MC goes to is another version they have to maintain, and the WP7 userbase isn't very big. On a side note, what do you think of WP7, OP? I'm kind of disillusioned with Android and have been looking into alternatives.

Well I figured it would be sorta "compile once, deploy everywhere" much like java applications (since xbox/windows/wp7 can use silverlight).
Its very nice, great change from my former motorola backflip, its smooth and the only downfall is no sockets/instant resume which will be fixed in mango (7.1)
I would love to see a minecraft version on the WP7. Again, since it is also done in XNA, it would be easy to use the Xbox version (once it comes out) with the WP7 version, with changes here and there.
Offtopic: Does anyone know a single minecraft clone on the WP7? I was searching the market place, and couldn't find a single one.

I am the bone of my sword
Steel is my body, and fire is my blood
I have created over a thousand blades
Unknown to death, Nor known to life
Have withstood pain to create many weapons
Yet, those hands will never hold anything
So as I pray, Unlimited Blade Works
