I just had a thought about mine craft for the xbox. Should it be free if you bought the pc version of mine craft?
And I know it would raise a few problems like how to make it free if you own the pc version, or it would be a bought in the beta type deal.
Personally I think it should be free, if you link it to your minecraft.net account and have mine craft for the pc purchased.
I actually bought during alpha but thats beside the point, i do agree it should be discounted because notch isn't actually porting it but im not sure how that would work due how xbox live works. The only only way it would be possible to be discounted is if you had gold or if microsoft makes some weird prenium minecraft account or something
Basically asking if you're a child that can't afford it, or an adult.
No I'm just interested what the community has to say about this, keep in mind that we don't know about the production details to any great extent. Sorry if im behind in news but to my knowledge they haven't announced another team developing it, please correct me If I'm wrong.
no, there i no legal obligation for us to get it free, and really no moral obligation, unless your one of those self entitled players who think they are the true owners of minecraft.
also, your pole missed alpha, beta are in no way even close to eligible for it. if they were to do that, they would go out of business, and i don't care how much money you say they have, if they had to buy a copy of minecraft for everyone who already has minecraft, they would lose almost all of their profit instantly, the only people with any sort of reason to even bring up the subject of getting it for free are alphas, and even then only the ones who don't know what their talking about would bother.
It shouldn't be free and it WON'T be free. I have sen lots of online games recreated for console games, and they're never free, or even discounted for that matter. Minecraft for the X-box is an entirley new way to play, therefore it wont be free. I choose no, but discounted ( that would be nice :biggrin.gif: )
Next question: Should video games be free if you buy the console? Should shoes be free once you buy your first pair? Should cars be free when you have a licence?

Manly blood is both highly acidic AND highly basic, but I'm glad to see you're paying attention.
MysteryGoo, I agree with you. If there's some sort of discount or added feature for already existing PC players (or just anyone who purchases before official release) then I'll be getting it... Otherwise I'll just wait for the price to go down. XD
I'd be more then happy to pay for it (If I still had a 360)
Why? Because I payed for minecraft when it was a half made PC game.
Should there be an extra for PC players? Yea probably and I bet there will be. I don't know what it is but seeing as the game might not even be started yet I'm okay with that.
I'll ***** the day that notch releases something on PC and expects alpha player to pay for it because that was the deal.

Odds are I was using this post to tell you why you are stupid. This helps you. The green + helps me.

I pretty sure that when I purchased minecraft during alpha Notch said, "You'll be helping me in production costs, and any future VERSION of minecraft will be free."

Things change when people become millionaires and big corporations are involved.
And shouldn't it be "yes, if you bought it during Alpha." in the poll there.

I don't often follow threads I post in. If you'd like a response about something, send me a PM.
