NOTE: as a result of a nice enough member of our Forum community i was directed to the correct section of the forums to place this particular thread. if you would like to join in on the discussion please continue to the forum discussion section of the forums found towards the lower end of the list on the board index. THANK YOU!
*disclaimer* i am very much well aware that this could have just been a discussion and there is no need for a poll however i feel it is more legit for someone to see common numbers on answers other people have selection and may bring on more discussion, if you are unhappy with the poll options just select other and tell us all how you feel in the thread discussion! Thank you!
also! in the poll questions this is all assuming that the thread post is appropriate and non-offensive!
thread title is quite straight forward. i will list a few very broad and open ending options for what you think of over reporting of forum threads amongst any section of the mine craft forums and you are free to discuss as such. i understand it will be very tempting to become opinionated and argue on a topic you will never win. with that in mind please keep the discussion open minded and un-opinionated. funny guys are welcome but keep the humor friendly please!
thanks,
Shiv
if your feeling youtubish in my sig is my channel its pretty much all minecraft stuff!
If you can fix the problem without reporting the person, then by reporting them to "these" mods and admins on this forum is like feeding someone to the sharks. Even if they did nothing wrong they will still get 3 day banned apparently, even if the admins and mods can't justify their actions, and then they will stick up for each other instead of asking the question "could we have made a mistake".
This is in the wrong section. This section is for talking about minecraft.
as stated in the board index the discussion section of the forum states anything minecraft or the developement of minecraft may be discussed here. i would say its general belief that the forums are apart of minecraft and that the discussion section of the forums would be the best suiting to have a thread about an issue evolved around the forums would it not?

the forums are apart of minecraft are they not? but instead of broad open ended remarks perhaps you could follow up with the point i was trying to make with the posting of this discussion and poll to kindly suggest a better suited section where this would be best suited. through my eyes discussing the forums is best suited in the discussion section.
Usually when I see people get reported for a thread, it is usually always Spam or Troll/Flame-bait.
Recently in the suggestions forum there was a suggestion asking to make the player Bi... Obviously this choice has NOTHING to deal with minecraft, and not to mention that it was all spelled terribly on consisted of no more than 5 "words"... It's obvious that the thread should have been reported!
In other cases, it's just a simple misplaced thread report. Only a couple hour ago, I reported a thread asking for Vertical Half-Tiles for being in the discussion forum. Of course, I commented first telling them that it's in the wrong thread, but for this... it really doesn't matter. They have to be reported either way so they can be moved...
So this is kind of a silly thing to discuss. If you're a genuine user, you won't be reporting people because it's funny.
EDIT: Also I agree. Threads discussing goings-on in the forums should be held in the Discussion Forum. Discussion about Minecraft or the Development of Minecraft should be held in the Beta-Survival Mode section.

well it was also just brought to my attention that it is possible for a player to be banned for the 3 days due to being reported no matter the reason. now i dont have any sources to prove this fact and i do not want to call this person a liar by any means so assuming hes correct a simple report due to improper placement of thread however appropriate it may be could lead to a generally rule obeying user becoming temporarily banned. it is possible to edit your forum post in its entirety to something else completely, therefor possible for any user to make note of a mistake in incorrect forum section or possibly even rephrasing it to where it fits (not always applicable but possible). i suppose i just seem to be running into more rude remarks on forum posts that almost seemingly are in the right section however may include something that does not apply. I try to keep my discriptions for topic discussion short so i apologize ive been partially rambling on here.
ya know i never seem to find myself scrolling that far down on the topic list, never even seen that one. but thank you for most certainly proving that you don't need to hastily resort to reporting someone but bringing fourth friendly suggestions. i will repost this thread how it appears in the discussion section, and i also now know for future reference of a forum discussion section! i will also leave a bold note in the discription that i have moved discussion to the proper section.
