Back on topic, I agree. I don't think he's looked at or updated that list for quite a while. It still has Dyes listed, and that's clearly been implemented already.
Though I suspect he is looking at Get Satifaction, or at least somebody is. Because the "Answered Questions", and "Solved Problems" sections get updated pretty frequently.
The lack of significant feedback on the "Ideas" page is somewhat worrisome though. There are some really good ideas there, and I'd love to know whether or not they're being considered.
any complaint or suggestion you have will fall on deaf ears.

There was an interview a while back with notch, and here I'm paraphrasing from my half-remembering of the forum post of a translation of a low-quality youtube vid, where he said he didn't know about a number of things the community had suggested, and to some extend actively tried to avoid it, to prevent his own ideas from becoming conflated with theirs.
Now there might be a number of reasons for this. I've seen it suggested that he's just very protective of his own work and doesn't want it to be influenced by others, and I think (again, same quality of memory as before) that he himself has said that this is true to a certain extent. But I think there's another reason too:
Wild speculation follows!
One of the big reasons the changeover to beta happened, IIRC, was legal in nature. Notch promised everyone in Alpha that they'd get everything, forever. Once he started expanding and actually got a lawyer to look at that, the lawyer's response was along the lines of "WTF are you thinking, stop that right now." So in Beta, people who buy it just get that and the final product. I personally think that if that legal issue hadn't come up, we'd still be in alpha right now; the sudden change was motivated more by the law department than any technical reason.
What that says to me is that Legal has more influence over Mojang than before. It's possible that's the reason he doesn't read the forums for ideas. If he spots something in Suggestions that he likes and incorporates it into the game, the person who posted it (or anyone who posted anything like it!) might feel they have a right to some of the money, and they might even be legally correct (I am not a lawyer, and I am especially not a Swedish lawyer).
As a for-instance, if I write a story about Wolverine and send it to Marvel Comics, I'm likely to get a letter back that says something along the lines of "We do not accept unsolicited manuscripts". If it doesn't go through official channels, it's likely rejected out of hand just to prevent people from saying "I had that idea, pay up!". That way, Marvel can say "No, we throw away everything that doesn't come from an agent, so we couldn't have see his idea".
I can see this happening to Notch - he doesn't want to look at people's ideas because he doesn't want to get sued. It doesn't matter that most people here would be thrilled if he used their ideas, because it only takes one bad apple.

This forum ticked me off so much I went to random.org and set my password to something I'll never be able to remember, then switched my password reset to a throwaway.
Wow, this thread just got derailed into a Notch Hate thread in record time here.
OH YOU GUYS
good job proving the NDF stereotype there, you say one bad thing about notch and it instantly turns into "notch hate".
NDF stereotype? I think you are jumping the gun here. You guys did certainly derail the topic with your comments, that were pretty much irrelevant to what he was asking.
And in what way was I defending Notch? I'd be the worse member of the NDF...

Nature should really stop catering to all these furries! I mean, do we REALLY need two kinds of elephant? Puh-leaze.

he asked if the list was false information, and I told him notch doesn't care about the list anymore. how is that irrelevant?

well, this thread went into a tangent of "Notch doesn't listen to anything anyone says" territory really quickly, which wasn't really the topic at hand. I was just calling it like I see it...

way to put words into my mouth. I guess you just see what you want to see.
Enough with the meta discussion!
So, yes the list still exists. No, it is no longer in use by Notch (though it's an interesting bit of history I guess). And although Get Satisfaction exists, it doesn't serve as a to do list for Minecraft features.
What do we know about current items being worked on?
1. The launcher including change log and choice of downloading the latest unstable build.
2. Save format: experiments have been ongoing though I haven't seen anything about this in recent days.
3. Some sort of new useful block which has been 'tricky to implement' and 'maybe makes minecraft too easy'. Jeb is working on balance.
4. Notch is working on the mod API, which is a step towards getting mods officially supported and thus not breaking with every update.
There's a number of other things that have been mentioned (especially in the livesteam Q&A Notch gave) but that's what I remember as current ongoing tasks from team twitter updates. Doesn't sound like a whole lot in terms of gameplay, but the new block better be fun as I think we need something to tide us over until mods get official.
Hmm, an actual up to date to-do official list would be welcomed.

Chill, boyo. I'm talking about multiple people. Mostly aimed at DaBiggmann, who always seems to be stoking the flames of revolution. I'm not meaning to ruffle any feathers.
ANYWAY, BACK ON TOPIC.
Mojang is going to implement a company blog, soon, and they will hopefully have more information on upcoming content with that, especially with multiple people being able to access it.
Here's to hoping! *shot o' vodka*
