After researching a bit in these forums i began to question; What is truly the setting of minecraft? Most tend to say it takes place in a fictional medieval-time theme (although some elements are present) I disagree.
My Opinion
Besides mining, crafting and surviving, Minecraft doesn't seem to have much of a concept. So, i guess the time-frame shouldn't matter much.
So what do you guys -the community- think of minecraft's setting? Should there even be a setting present? If so, what setting do you think it is?

Because setting forest fires and killing helpless animals is always okay!
I see it as a Crusoe-esque time frame for technology, with low fantasy elements mixed in.
I always thought the technology was underdeveloped simply because it was more time efficient and less costly ,in recourses, for one to craft something simple, such as a Pick-Axe, rather then constructing a fully automatic mining machine which requires multiple components and hands to construct.
