I'd say start out with an optional afternoon at the park, and ultimately convene in the evening at the Red Robin. The weather is supposed to be a little rainy the day before, so it shouldn't be too bad.
Unless someone is closer, more flexible, or feels more responsible, I live nearby (Renton) and could be the local head-it-up guy.
If people are interested, I bet I can find space for an impromptu lan party as well, but being the middle of the week I'm not sure how great that would be.
edit: red robin is on the east side of the mall, which is across the street from the park. I can take the day off and pick some people up on my way if there are people lacking transportation nearby. (PM me to work out details. I'm a sub school bus driver, so I have extra qualifications in this department)
I'm planning on leaving early afternoon, but i can be flexible I've got one or two free seats.
also, if you are under 18 I'll have to talk with your parents first XD
EDIT: If no-one needs a ride later in the day, me and a couple friends are going to show up at like 10 am (or earlier) to help kick things off. Anyone who is organizing anything can shoot me an e-mail, we would love to help out however we can.
I suggest the early birds meet at a coffee shop, and then later in the day we go somewhere else where the majority of the people will meet.
Lets try and make this so awesome that notch will want to come back!
I'm also pretty close by (Bothell area), so I'd be happy to do what I can to help too. For my two cents, Red Robin sounds good if we have a small-to-moderate group, but if we end up with a rather large one (as it sounds like we might), the staff might not enjoy having us as much. Also, for the LAN party, I was thinking that having one near the park might be good so that people who end up getting there "early" (whatever that ends up being) could have a place to hang and play. That would also put the LAN party being sometime in the middle-ish time of day which might be good for people who have work or school in the morning.
My two roomies and I live in Seattle, we'll totally be there.
I agree with the idea of being close to food. Awkward silence isn't as awkward when you can blame it on chewing.
Just my luck. By odds that are fairly slim Notch will be nearly standing on top of me in the same location on the Earth out of millions of other possible spots.
Yet I'll be busy as hell :tongue.gif:. Albeit getting married so it's not like it's a job or bad. (I get to eat a really expensive cake!)
But yeah. I love how that works out :tongue.gif:.
Good luck with the Con I hope folks don't disturb you so much that you shun America.
Sucks, 'cause I live in Abbotsford. It's two hours North across the border.
EDIT: Er, it sucks actually 'cause I don't have a passport. I don't travel so I never bothered. Bluh.
Hey, Toady (of Dwarf Fortress fame) lives in Seattle. It'd be quite a party if he showed up.
When I read Seattle,Washington ; It was so ironically painful, I threw my homework across the room, I mean really?
I live in FLORIDA, there is no way I could ever get out of school, and get there.
OffTopic: I really think there should be just be one country on the planet, where they send all their gamers too. Then all the Video Game Company would be in one place, and Notch could hold this thing without having to have people travel across the globe. Imagine the Army and Economy for it, The army would consist of Trolls and their Main Export would be Video Games. Some Programmers need to program some Robots to build an Island in the middle of the Ocean big enough to support life and crops, so then we can all game and work on games! It would be called : "Game-Topia".

Oh, People and their Heroine Herobrine Addictions..
Bleh, this is as close as it'd ever get to where I live, but I'd still have to take a ferry, drive for several hours and cross the border (and then drive for some more hours). The lan party idea made me especially sad that I can't come. :<
Yeah, there are disadvantages to not living on the mainland. Traffic here is great, though.
I'll be coming. most likely going to be the only female there... hahaha. hope to meet you guys and have a good time! I'll be the one with the pink laptop.

Congratulations!
Yeah, but now you have a reason to get more involved, right? In theory that's always good, isn't it?

We are trying to figure out times now but are waiting for Notch to reply to a message that asks him about time and such.
Someone make sure to bring a camera! A group picture with everyone who showed up from the community would be awesome.
