TF2, felt boring and generic, apart from the art style, there is not anything new here. 2/10
Half life 2, and episodes 1 and 2. Great shooters, nothing unique though. 8/10
Portal, OH **** YES EPIC GAME YESSSSS 10/10
I don't think TF2 is a bad game I just don't play it :tongue.gif:
I <3 the HL series though been a fan for a long time.

What?
Team Fortress 2 is the generic game around here? Are you even remotely connected to the FPS multiplayer community?
TF2 has over 9000% more creativity then the rest of the little pieces of copy-idea-paste-in-your-own-game **** that are called "games". Really, the gameplay is more balanced then anything else I've seen in a FPS, the weapons are unique and the differences between them go beyond "this weapon shoots faster and this does more damage". The class idea and team work are things that are as rare as diamond in a 10x10x10 area in Minecraft and with over 20 official maps this game CAN NOT be uncreative or generic!
Admit it. You joined a game, got killed 30 times, got frustrated and rage quit, and now you flame the game. Jeez, you're just like the Minecraft haters, that tried the Classic version for 10 minutes, got bored of it, and flamed the game on the Steam forums.
Well lolwut0, cant handle that someone do not enjoy the game you love?
Take a chill pill and let him have his own feeling about a game, instead of derailing the topic.

Wow...
I honestly loved the Team Fortress for the goldsource engine. TF2 just doesn't sit right with me for whatever reason. I'd have to say that it's the style that is a turn off for me I guess.
So, yea, TF2 is boring. Maybe not generic, but it is boring.

“Take the first step, and your mind will mobilize all its forces to your aid. But the first essential is that you begin. Once the battle is startled, all that is within and without you will come to your assistance.” ~ Robert Collier
His heroes might be Tarn/Zach Adams (Toady One and Threetoe, for those out of the Dwarf Fortress loop).
Dwarfcraft Mmmm. I wanna make a cactus pit filled with angry elephants for my enemies to fall into and get squished into a wonderful pixely paste. Please let it be so!
If Minecraft gets steamed I'm out of here and getting a refund instantly.
I bought Minecraft because it natively supports Linux and is not constrained to a platform. Introducing steam will leave it with a sucky Client that takes 40% of your RAM, DRM and only runs Windows and Mac without tricks like WINE.
Before you cheer "YAY STEAM" as the ultimate bringer of wealth and awesomeness, please consider that there is more than just Windows and Macintosh out there.
Steam will be optional, silly. Also Steam is coming to linux... some time, haha.

yes 79 mb of my 4GB RAM truly steam is a terrible system hog that nobody should use and the drm is way worse than Ubisoft's 3 install limit yup, im not jumping on the Steam sux bandwagon at all... /sarcasm
Staem is NOT DRM, Not even close! On Steam Online (normal) you can buy games, play them, ect. But you can hit Go Offline Mode and you can play all the games OFFLINE even if you have No internet meaning you can play singleplayer, You just cant play Multiplayer.
Shorter Note: Steam is not DRM you can just hit Offline mod
And is steam goes OFFLINE without friends and stuff but you have internet you can still play multiplayer.
ITT: people thinking that minecraft being available on steam means that you will have to use steam to play it.
There are many games on steam that you can buy without it.
Why can we not have a thread about this stuff without you people crying over **** that either isn't true or doesn't matter?

Oh for ****s sake.
Steam does not work that way. The option of buying it from Notch's site isn't going anywhere. Steam will only become another avenue of distributing the game. Valve will not acquire the game, Valve will not dictate what platform it will become exclusive to, Steam will only advertise and distribute it. Non-Steam options will remain if he does some day make a deal with Valve.
Perhaps there is some kind of grudge against Valve in general going on? I personally like Steam. It works for me, so it's not a stretch of the imagination that I have absolutely no interest in biting the hand that feeds me, let alone completely gnawing it off. If Notch suddenly up and goes LOL WIN/MAC or PSP ONLY, then that's the proper time to get upset.
Flippeh, you sound bitter. Steam has improved a lot from the old days of CS 1.6 when those complaints would have been justified. The memory usage is basically negligible for any computer newer than four years, and if you're running games on something that old I don't know what to say to you. And as far as DRM goes... yeah so what? Steam is a very soft-handed approach to DRM that really doesn't affect legitimate users at all.
And yes, I sincerely doubt that Notch would remove the current payment method in favor of a Steam-only system, especially considering that he's been doing his best to help out everyone (even Linux users) so far.
then he later clarified with: "no news yet. Just important people, my heroes, wanting to talk." http://twitter.com/xnotch/status/20905225777
So, Steam? :biggrin.gif:
The HORROR!
But i don't think it's neither Steam nor EA. Maybe a TF2 hat for people who bought Minecraft?
Obviously someone is playing too much MW2/BC2/Halo/Other "elite" game
No money to buy The Orange Box?

It is most likely Valve, they have shown the most interest in Minecraft.
Minecraft should never become a steam game. I would probably quit if it did.
