Just imagine, every (important) building having signs letting you know what it is, warning signs, "DO NOT GRIEF NOOBS" signs, an so much more. Plus directional signs, of course.

No, infdev will be updated and slowly replace indev, though it seems that Notch might make it possible to create limited size maps as well as infinite size maps in the "new" indev.
Finally a thread where someone doesn't just copy his blog and put 5 pages of OMG. I agree though, signs have quite a practical use. They may come in handy with defending myself from myself. I guess my maps will be filled with signs saying 'mine here and die'.

And my signs would read "mine here-diamond found." And make sure that there is lava behind the rock. XD

My crappy £300 laptop makes infdev impossible, although it did become playable when I switched to fire-fox. Chrome must have some issues, which is a shame considering its generally a much better browser. The app feature is great for indev. At least I don't use IE!
same. that, and infdev sounds VERY unreliable. I hear some parts vanish completely, including houses/bases.
I do hope infdev->indev is a fairly major priority.
Nothing has been bug-tested yet, so it's not surprising nor should it be unexpected that there would be problems.
Notch is trying to implement features, like signs, and once everything works (mostly), then beta testing can focus on optimization and bugs.
The fact that it doesn't run perfectly is, frankly....expected. There's really no point in complaining about it right now.
i cant wait for signs. oh, the possibilities are endless! signs for shops, directional signs, descriptions, ect. this is amazing, and i cant wait. :biggrin.gif:

I cant wait till this comes out. Its going to be sweet in caves so you so can find your way around. But I wonder how you will craft them maybe like this?
