I came across an ancient stone tablet in minecraft the other day, and I have now translated it.
Quote from ancient miner »
Day 1: I happened upon a strange vine today. All along the vine are tiny pods, and when burnt these pods burst brightly. I got burnt on my hand because of it.
Day 2: Discovered a way to grind pods into a fine powder. Care must be taken, or more injury might occur. My close friend lost his bottom because he dropped the pod on the ground. He is stupid and I pushed him on the ground because he is stupid.
Day 3: Mixing powder from bursting pods with sand helps to make it not burst when dropped. Fire still makes it burst. Friend without his bottom lost a hand when he put fire on it. He is stupid and I put salt on his wounds because he is stupid.
Day 4: Skeleton attacked village today. Friend got a arrow in his eye because he did not hide. He is stupid and I poked his eye hole with a stick because he is stupid.
Day 5: Friend wrapped zombie with strange vines. It surprised me. He is stupid and I hit him with a stick because he is stupid.
Day 6: My friend said he found a crystal to make the zombie make more vines if his arms were first removed. I don't believe him. He is stupid and I am going to put a bursting pod in his mouth while he sleeps because he is-
<The text ends abruptly. It looks as though the tablet was caught in an explosion.>
Perhaps this tablet will shed some light on the creeper's origins...
a language that im sure you are fluent in...where'd you learn? (being able to speak Olde Minecraftian would be cool, and it'd be even cooler to write in that on those signposts Notch has promised us...)
so, you think the creepers came from the bursting pods?
Well, their explosive capability comes from bursting pods, but creepers themselves started as a zombie covered in these vines and with its arms cut off, and when this guy found the crystal, it caused the zombie to bind with the vines, and it can reproduce itself into more creepers.
I was digging in a cave and found some sort of ancient temple, half-exploded and swarming with skeletons. I grabbed my WARHAMMER (Hint hint) and smashed them all.
That tale is incorrect, as we all know that creepers came from the moon. However, it is probably a biblical story attempting to explain the existence of creepers.
Viking, eh? Suprisingly, I look into different written langauges, mostly Japanese kanji, eskimo letters, and conviently viking runes. Im not sure this is viking though. It looks...backwards...
i though creeper's was a genetic experiment with pigs that went wrong...
It was, actually. The pigs were suffering from a disease, so they cross-bred them with moon creatures. It was discovered that they would explode in people's faces, but a pack escaped before they could be terminated.

What is that to do with warhammer? (as in games workshop?) :?: :?:
Nothing. I just really want warhammers to be added tot he game.
But why si the creeper's legs stubbier and have 4 legs instead of 2?
Hmm... Well they're stubby because the vines are hanging down over its knees, and there's four because when the first creepers reproduced, their offspring were mutated.
