Unfortunately true. No developer really wants to target Mac because the audience is so small in comparison. It's just not worth the additional costs for such a low reward.
The last Mac vs PC thread I saw here ended with the mac guy threatening to kill another guy's first-born son.
Maybe not relavent, but it made my day. :laugh.gif:
I the end programing for macs are not worth it. Apple has terrible history in controlling its users systems and what they do with them.
Seeing as there are indeed games available for the Mac, and a few fairly big-name publishers/developers make their games compatible with the OS (i.e. Blizzard), I just don't understand why others can't do the same. I mean, the game is made. It exists. It can't possibly be that difficult to get it to work on a Mac. Some big games do it, lots of indie games do it (i.e. Dwarf Fortress), so why can't it become the norm?
It is up to whoever is making the application to decided whether to support Mac or not. If you want an application badly, maybe learn to program and code it so it works on Macs.
The point is, a LOT more people have PCs than Macs and whichever platform they're most comfortable programming in is the one they're going to support.
Hey you guys. Minecraft is cross-platform. There are a number of languages which make it very easy to develop for multiple platforms. For instance, Java and Python.
You could at least follow the precedent set by Notch and make the tools you want people to use for Minecraft be usable by everyone who plays it as well.
Also, Mac isn't the only non-Windows platform. Linux exists, people.
Some people will go a long way to get the last say in a MAC vs PC debate.
Yes, it does matter that much to them. Knowing this you now have every right to be worried and slightly weirded out.
its not a mac vs pc but i cant go back now after spending $900 on a mac and both will do, people just need to come to terms with mac beginning to become popular
OMG A 0% INCREASE, MAC IS NOW LIEK EVERYWUNS FAVOREIT OS OR SOMETHING.
No.
Mac is NOT becoming "popular", it's become slightly "more" popular (if I were to remove rounding the gain in popularity was somewhere around 0.3% - 0.4%). But far from having ANYTHING on Windows. Thus far from having any strong developer base other than the small collection of other Mac users. Who most of the time develop stuff for cross platform, since if they were proprietary Mac software developers, they'd become homeless bums in 5 seconds flat.

Give a little. =♥=
But if this is true, why make more things for mac?
And how would this come to be if PC is not better suited to the task of running and coding games?

It's in a companies' best interest to reach the largest amount of consumers they can.
