Begins: When this post is made.
Ends: 2010 March 5th (australian time), 1 month from start so you should have plenty of time :smile.gif:
What you do: Build a small village in a 64x64 map, with 32 as depth. Only 1 non-premium can win, if you are premium, you can give the prize to someone else. Additional points if you do it on a non-flatgrass, adapting to the terrain.
How to submit your entry: Post your link here before the due date. Do not copy someone else's work!
yay creative contest !
Good luck everyone. You sure like spending money though :wink.gif:
Edit : My friend's gonna participate , I'll post what he did though. So if he wins , gift the user : stormlake

he used Omen to generate a terrain so ignore the name (Supposed to be a Modern village btw). Not much of a village imo though. It features just a single house , a fishing house with a boat , a camp and the rest is up to you to discover.
Here you go, all finished. This took about... 5-6 hours of work in total? Not really sure. This is my first actually finished map :ohmy.gif:
For the curious, I created the flatgrass in OMEN. Everything else was done by hand in single player :smile.gif: (and some Cheat Engine for the lava forge/river)
I may or may not add some photos after this for anyone interested in seeing but not feeling like downloading.
Enjoy!
Some features so you know what to expect:
+ Moderately sized town with a wall "for protection"
+ Several houses and a "bank"
+ Small beach area with lighthouse and mine
+ Some underground rooms/secrets to find
+ A windmill, forge, and marketplace
Be sure you explore the entire thing! There's a lot to see, even outside of the town's walls.
If I was more bored, less tired, I'd replicate the town from the show "Jericho" (Haha, nobody's heard of it. Look it up.). But I'm premium anyways, lol.

Hey guys, just to let you know I'm on a slow internet connection right now. I'll look into all of the maps when the contest is ended, so I'm not biased by whichever I see first.
I used a randomly generated map with Omen (for some reason no trees spawned, maybe my bad). The village is spread out because I built mainly on flatish patches of land and tried to make it look natural. I spent around 6 or 7 hours on this, and intended for it to be a peaceful village set somewhere around the 1700s.
Some features: (some are hard to tell what they are ingame)
-Gathering Room (orange post)
-Tiny Bank (brick building)
-Mayor's Office (under the flag)
-School + library
-'(Tiny) Artistic Building' (on the island)
-Historical Monument (red post)
-Smithy (with the chimney)
-Mine (pickaxe)
-Watchtower (the big thing in the middle)
-Shop (the one with random colours in it)
-Terraced farm and grazing patch (no animals because...yeah.)
-Outhouse (connected to the pond ;P)
I hope I win (who doesn't?), but I kinda doubt it. Still fun to try :smile.gif:
Finally, an easter egg: You can jump on top of all the buildings in the map :wink.gif:
Randomly generated with Omen, tried my best not to alter the landscape. For every tree I had to remove, I planted another.
Mushroom farm, fisherman's bar, player's house and luxury house outside the walls. Inside the walls are above-ground housing, small storage/shack within the ground (but above ground), and a tunnel passage leading to a few underground homes and a large meeting hall. After the meeting hall are beer kegs (just before the stairs) and a large community kitchen (after the stairs), and then deep underground housing encircling a well.

EDIT: Used a slightly older save, fixed now.
