I watched the video, I'm scared that it might be a bit too dark in caves.

6) For artificial light sources, I would say that within the "medieval" theme we'd need 4 new blocks to cover the basic lighting they had: A Torch block, and a Fire (campfire or fireplace, whatever) block, both giving off red light. A Candle block, and a Lantern block, both giving off yellow light.
I'm sorry If I seem a bit too grouchy but Minecraft does not have a medieval theme, I suppose people think of that when they think of cobblestone and castle building. On the other hand, maybe torch blocks could be that the actually torch block is like a flame sort of tile, that is animated and it's like a half light block as if it was 5 blocks away from the full light, maybe that's a bit too low but I suppose we should actually be able to create still lava blocks as lights to be able to put it in the floor and ceiling for lighting.

Talent didn't go anywhere, it just gets lost in all the noise. You have to find it.
Funny you mention it. On my underground server, all my large stairways start and end with lamps filled with lava. Never thought it would become an actual light source. I just thought they looked cool.

Minecraft is intended to have a medieval theme. It is what Notch has had in mind from the start, hence bow and arrow instead of firearms.
It looks incredible! You can picture it in your head, but you never know until you see it.
I did notice that the grass was still dying even under one level of shadow, but hopefully that will change.
Anyways, I'm out for the Holidays. Merry Christmas, everyone, and be back in about a week.
