I made a poll on polldady.com to see how was the gaming experience of the minecraft players this few days without hacks.
[] Better Gameplay and Less Griefing
if you found more enjoyable entering in a server and see everyone walking around and stuff (and maybe people being more friendly around new players) , and you saw less griefed stuff.
[] Better Gameplay and the same amount of Griefing
Same as above, but you think that everthing was pretty much griefed with the same rate.
[] Worse Gameplay and Less Griefing
If you think that hacks make the game more enjoyable but you still think that this few days had less griefing.
[] Worse Gameplay and the same amount of Griefing.
Same as above, but with the same griefing than ever.
It's been much more enjoyable, but I have seen no change in the amount of griefing. It may have even increased, but you made no option for that.
I just didn't made it because i see no possible reason why griefing would had get worse, the griefers lost all the hack powers but the admins keep the tp command, but if i get a few request i can add it.

I see no reason for it either, other than the sapling issue. But it's still pretty bad.
There will always be griefers, and while their strategies have progressed immeasurably, most server admin's anti-grief strategy has simply boiled down to "trust no-one ever, IP ban anyone who looks suspicious". It has gotten to the point that Admins and Ops TRULY care more about preventing griefing than having a genuinely fun server. Imagine a country with zero entertainment industry interested in executing anyone who breaks even the most insignificant rules.
With the recent update, the idea that anyone who uses hacks is a baby-eater has once again reared its ugly head, with copious amounts of WAAAAAAAH. People harass eachother on public servers for no reason.
The most obvious effect I've seen of this whole ordeal is as follows: The intellectuals argue instead of build. The idiots build instead of talk. Half the servers are full of random towers of TNT and bookshelves. The game has become completely unpleasant, with random holes to the bottom of the map everywhere and a shitton of boring brick and obsidian huts littering the maps of the game.
What was once a fun stress-reliever has quickly become a chore and an endless hole of drama. Griefing (and unintentionally obnoxious construction) is at its absolute worst, and the anti-hack crowd and the pro-hack crowd are too busy whining to take notice and help prevent it.
Ive noticed this, although greifing has stayed the same, its been in a smaller area. On reddit public pretty much all the greifing is right at the spawn. Everything on the outside (Like my buildng) is untouched. Also, there's less super long tunnels or tunnels to the bottom of the may. Its mostly spamming blocks and destroying buildings. Thus I like this.
That's not going to make the game any better, now, is it?
I didn't say it won't get better. I only said what's happened recently, which is a load of whining and, in my experience, even more griefing.
Are you going to argue that there's been less argument and more quality construction since the update?
Are you going to argue that the constant arguing over hacks isn't annoying?
Are you going to claim you've never seen someone be kicked or banned from a server for a silly reason?
Minecraft is still unique and with a lot of great people playing, but the general community has forgotten they're playing a game about stacking rocks, choosing to make it something super-serious and dramatic. I just want a community that doesn't bite itself on the ass every time something even slightly non-ideal happens.
Then I suggest you broaden your search for such a community to places other than the internet. You'll have much more luck. Besides, when was this a good community?

Oh, I get it.
Because people who use the internet have no lives.
That's funny. You're a funny guy.
However, I'm interested in discussing a video game right now. If you'd like to continue pretending that you're the only guy with on the internet with a life, go to /r9k/ or something. They're really into that over there.
But, my point is, I enjoy the game, and I wish it had a better community. If I find a great minesweeper community, I might recommend it to a friend who enjoys minesweeper. However, I'm interested in Minecraft right now, and there's not really any alternate Minecraft communities. My beef with the community isn't that it's not good with conversation, it's that it isn't doing what the community in an online game is supposed to do- that is, work together on the game itself. See what I'm saying? It's not that the community is really made of bad people, it's that they're focusing on the wrong things.

... Which is pretty much the opposite of what I've experienced. I suppose I'll check out Reddit Public.
I'm saying you have very little chance of finding a community like that on the internet. I'd like to have a great community where people don't argue about the little things or start drama. Problem is, they don't exist.
Any other meaning you manage to draw from that is simply a figment of your imagination.

The start of multiplayer for about a week was the prime time to play. My fondest memory was the initial MP tests. There were teams of sometimes 5-6 people building. I watched a skyscraper being constructed like that and it was an awesome sight to behold. It was like watching a team of builders laying brick upon brick and the sky scraper rose.
Ontopic: I find with the new changes building got ALOT worse... pure obsidian and brick houses hurt my eyes alot, but iron is just plain beautiful if used right.
Worse gameplay and no griefin. Of course I only go on WoM =P
Some might consider me lazy for using them but it does help make better designs. The past few days haven't been too bad without them but it has been harder to see all of my buddy's work when it takes so long to walk across the map.

Are you going to argue that water does not causes thousands of deaths a year?
Also the random block spam will stop when people finally get used to the new blocks.
Quality of output = Skill * Effort

Ah, the good ol' days. No hacks, no griefing.
I need to stop ranting with every post I make.
Edit: woops lol.. wrong topic (offtopic thing edited out)
