Have you ever had the urge to play minecraft with some dual analog action? Do you have a PS3 controller laying around?
In this tutorial I will show you how to hook up your PS3 controller to your computer and then to get it to work with minecraft!
:WARNING: IF YOU HAVE A ZUNE THIS MAY SCREW ITS CONNECTION WITH YOUR COMPUTER UP! :WARNING:
ITEM LIST
1. A PS3 Sixaxis Contorller
2. A Computer (Duh!)
3. This file (The PS3 Controller drivers so your computer will work with it)
4. This program (To assign keyboard buttons to the PS3 controller buttons)
5. ControlMK File
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Once you have the first file with the drivers unpack it to your desktop or somewhere and then run the program or manually place the .dll file in your system 32 folder.
2. Install ControlMK on your computer.
3. Import the controlMK profile file called Minecraft.pro into ControlMK and you should be set and ready to go.
Have fun!
Yeah, I know everyone has xbox controllers and they work nativly and stuff but I wanted a blueray player so I got a PS3. :tongue.gif: It works really nice though and you can use it for web browsing and stuff too.
If anyone wants I have a profile made that replaces the mouse, left button, right button, scroll button, volume buttons, next and previous track, windows key and alt-F4.

How do you connect a PS3 to the internet? I want to know how to connect a PS3 to the internet. I know you can connect it through a netgear box which i own, but my mother will not let me use it because she things it will weck the computer. I do have in my room a wirless network stick which allows me to go on the internet on my computer. Is there anyway of using that to get my PS3 on the internet?

If you're not online with your PS3, you won't get your hardware updates. Go to your system menu and follow the prompts. You'll need you router ID and router password (if one is enabled). Check your owners manual or the Sony PS3 site for more info.
Being online with your PS3 also allows you to use PlayStation Store, Home, Netflix and Hulu. Hook up and enjoy! Tell your Mom that there will be no interference with your computer unless you specifically have your
computer configured as Media server, search for it, and actually hook it up-a whole different menu/settings track, which I'm going to do when I (finally) get a new PC sometime this year.
Verify this on the PS3 site-things could have changed since I last looked at them. Good luck!
hey guy the first file is hard to find which one?
for being difficult you get a surplus of coal!mwahahahah! >:biggrin.gif:
the thread is a year and a half old, the links are outdated.
and this thread doesn't actually tell you how to connect the controller to the computer. it just gives drivers and files, no mentions of hardware modifications required for the computer to communicate with the PS3, unless it can communicate with the USB power charging cable.

Althrough I can never figure out why people want to play minecraft with a controller. That would be the clunkiest thing you could possibly do. (hint: console shooters "sorta" work because of auto-aim)
The Xbox Controller works with computers already without any download*maybe Xpadder to map the controller out*but i think it only works on windows computers but i dont know i dont own Xbox
