Me and some friends are already making some modifications to it for RPing. We are going to have 5 Noble Houses each controlled by a player(s) and separate the castle into 5 parts. So far the zones have been decided and about 1/4th of the citizens/guards have been placed. This map is going to be extraordinary for our style of RPing! Thank you so much for making it!
I just wanted to say thanks for LWK for inspiration. I'm building a very large sandcastle on Roblox.com based loosely on ideas from this ('specially the harbor). You are GREAT at castles. :smile.gif:
While I know I have no legal control over the map, please remember that I'm not finished with it yet (nor will be until Minecraft is fully out so I can add the new features like lights and doors and such), and would prefer if it not get out. A lot of work went into this, and while filling it with sand or making it an RP map is ok, please, please don't distribute it around or try to "finish" it yourselves.

Can I just ask, how big is the actual castle?
You mean in the books? No scale is given in the books, but it's definately much larger. Since this is the largest Creative can do I didn't have much of a choice. If the space was available it would probably be at least 4x the size it is now, and even that may not be enough.

Have tried creating some kind slums or a brothel? Remember every great kingdom has it's peasents :wink.gif:
Yeah, those are there, but that's kind of hard to recreate, especially when space is limited. Skimmer Town is probably the closest I come to a slum.

Edit: I found a secret exit through the castle walls that comes out underwater. I also found a random 1X1 pillar of trunk in the middle of nowhere underwater.
There ARE a few secrets around. The trunk out in the ocean isn't one, though. It's probably just a pillar I placed so I had a stationary platform for early pictures, and then forgot about.
I meant what size the castle was on minecraft because it doesn't take up all the 512x512 map space. The reason I would like to know is that I like looking at this for insperation only if my computers having a bad say then it fails to load, and If I could crop it in omen to just hold the castle then it might load.
Ah. Unfortunately it's larger than 256x256 in both directions, so it requires a 512x512 map. And it requires a 256 height because Wolfstooth Spire is the full 128 above sea level. I suppose you could crop it down, but it's going to remove parts of the castle no matter how you do it.

Wait, the Catmando? Haha, I though so. If you didn't know, we'd fraternized on there a little bit, as my account (Mercman66).

You should try a map of about 384 sometime. It's a multiple of 16 and not overly big nor too small. :wink.gif:

Unfortunatly the map size also has to be a power of 2, so that wouldn't work. I suppose I'll just look at it if my computers in a good mood.
Really? I have no idea who the hell you are. O_o Also, the Catmando? I'm not famous. :laugh.gif:
Well, I said "the" due to the fact that that's an uncommon name. xD
I didn't know if you got it from somewhere, haha. I've seen a PSN account with the same name also, don't tell me that's you. o___O
PSN? Yeah, I've heard that too. Someone told me. There's also a fish bait company with the name, and a type of shoe. None of which I knew about beforehand. :tongue.gif:

Lol, sue for infringment. xD
OnTopic: I'd love to be able to play this, but sadly, it PWNZ my computer every time I try to enter. I get like, 0.5 FPS. Lol.
I've never been past 1 FPS. LWK's computer is positively amazing. :ohmy.gif:
Also, can you specify where the Funderling Town entrance is? I can't tell from the picture and description provided. I know it's not finished, but I wanted to check around in it. :smile.gif:
My computer is pretty strong. I built it myself to be free of any bottlenecks. It can play Crysis no sweat. I typically have well over 30fps on this map with no fog.
Funderling town is to the right of where you first enter the Outwall. Cross the bridge and move right, and head to Skimmer's Lagoon (the buildings with the moss-rock and black roofs). Work your way around the left side of the lagoon and head towards the land under the wall for the Outer Keep. There will be a path and stairs headed down, and you'll see a redbrick wall covering an entrance. Funderling Town is just on the other side....or will be eventually.
There's also a secret passage in the lowest floor of the Observatory that will take you there.
Hmm. Coincidence it's there because that was the last place I checked. :tongue.gif: I was looking around in it and fell in the water because I couldn't see (darn you, lag!) and gave up. Lol, thanks!
