Hey guys, I have seen SO many great giant trees! I love looking at them and have tried time and time again to build a few of my own but they always look really awkward. I think I can build a fair trunk but the leaves I cannot get right for the life of me. Is there anyone who knows a good tutorial on making leaves of giant trees, would make one themselves, would give me some tips, or anything else that could teach me to build awesome giant trees?
Hey Fields,
One thing I do for giant jungle trees is I plant a regular jungle tree, go to the top, dig out a few tree limbs in the center till you show all 4 even tree logs, throw down 4 dirt blocks and plant another jungle tree on top of that one and keep going till you get it to the height you want. If you want a thicker tree, just add as many wood blocks as you want for the diameter. Here is an image of some of those I have been building on. Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but thought I would share. Hope it helps.

Thanks in advance guys!
Well, there are some things you may care about when creating a giant tree. First of all, if you've access to world edit, use it (later).
Then, start building a trunk, some blocks (2-3) in radius, be fearless with the shape, organic forms often look quite weird.
Remember a big tree has big roots, round the trunk and maybe breaking through the surface some blocks away.
Branches vary in length, direction and shape in general.
Remember the parts of a tree, roots, trunk, crown.
Wide crown for a giant tree.
Put the leaves randomly, no clear shape.
If you've access to world edit, use brown wool for the trunk and replace it with 17:12 in the end. (oak logs with bark on all faces)
It looks way better.

Thanks! I will definitely keep all that in mind. Do you have any more details on the crown?

Thanks for sharing! I have heard of that technique before- only with oak trees. I was thinking more of realistic giant oak trees but thanks for showing us your technique! I like your build you have there.
Well, details, the most important part of the crown are the randomly put leaves. And of course the volume. It needs a huge crown. Don't use world edit for the leaves, they'll despawn if they're too far away from a log.

So I do know someone that made a tutorial for this. That person is me . Here's the link:
I know these trees are not giants but you make ehm on bigger scale.
Hope you like them,

Ok thanks! Will do.
Thanks! That looks like a really cool treehouse!
I assume you are talking about world edit, Thanks for the advice.
Yeah Sorry About That
