I am already aware that you can use the /give command (/give [player name] 52 1 [data]), however I do not know what to put in for data. I wish to get a blaze spawner; so does anybody know what the data for that would be?

There are MCEdit schematics for the various spawners available (just google "blaze spawner schematic"). If you want to stay "in-game", you could also use dispensers with mob eggs. Its not the same as a spawner because the supply is limited and requires extra setup to dispense, but the flip side is you have a lot of control over when, where, and how many mobs spawn.
I wish it would be possible just to put another data value in to get a certain mob. Oh well, if you want loads of pigs then go do it! It would be even better to have them just in creative mode Inventory.
Use TMI and NEI together. Or use TMI and manually change the options file for each spawner.
EDIT: Now just use TMI, as of somewhere between 1.4 and 1.5. Thank you, marglyph.
If you use a Bukkit server and have WorldEdit you can //set 52|<mob>
example:
//set 52|villagergolem - Iron Golem Spawner
//set 52|skeleton - Skeleton Spawner
no, with mods that is possible to place spawners wherever u want and its not using egg spawner, it is using mod command.
you can find cave spider spawners in abandoned mines they have heaps of cobwebs around them in dungeons you can find skeleton, zombie and normal spider spawners, strongholds; silverfish and nether fortresses: blazes
no you dont need a mod to get monster spawnerrs you can find them in dungeons strong holds mines and nether fortresses

Yes but they cannot be moved. I believe these people are looking to have them in their inventory
Yes, it is possible. You have to use /give [playername (not in square brackets or parentheses!)] mob_spawner in 1.7, /give [playername] 52 1 in normal minecraft. I don't know how to get a Blaze Spawner like that, sorry.
Just Change "Blaze" to whatever mob u want (must begin with CAP)
Don't Know how to get it in your inventory though without toomanyitems, I'll use NBT Exporer to see what DataTags they used and probally do a vid on it.
no mods use this command to get the block underneath u into a blaze spawner : /setblock ~ ~-1 ~ minecraft:mob_spawner 0 replace {EntityId:Blaze}

To hopefully save any trouble, there are no NBT tags associated with mob spawner items; only the tile entities have any tags. You can view all tags associated with items here: http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Player.dat_format
So no, there is no possible way to /give a specific spawner in vanilla.

I believe that the default is a pig spawner and to change it you would need a plugin or mod. With Essentials you can type /spawner [mobname] while looking at it to change it I believe.

Correct. (To the extent of my knowledge.)
