Sounds like a neat idea. Perhaps, to make it resetable, you could have lava dump on the character's head instead of TNT. I don't know yet how well that would work, as I haven't gotten to the point where I can try it myself.

Well, just make it bedrock or obsidian and go all out with the tnt! Then of course, for other non-tnt obstacles, just make sure those are farther away and can't get hit.
It's a setup where you have to reset the map to play again in this form. Lava would take too long to disappear, so that's why I used TNT. As for the traps/obstacles, just stuff like seemingly random pressure plates that open surprise pits, normal pits, walls that cover the entire path except for one 1x2 hole, etc. If you have any more ideas, fire away.

After experimenting last night, the lava won't work, as you've noted.
I was wondering, though...what about having the floor open into a lava pit behind them, rather than the ceiling opening? Basically, they're outrunning a collapsing floor, like in DUCK TAILS!
