So over the past couple days' I've been experimenting with TNT cannons, and I think I found a really stable design. So heres the basic description:
Iron barrel, 9 blocks long. (blocks listed from back to front)
-1st block length = back of cannon, has wire on top.
-2nd block length = start of actual barrel, 1x1x1 space inside, Water bucket dumped in here. (whole barrel is 1x1)
-3rd block length = piston as bottom of barrel, facing up.
-4th-8th block lengths = main barrel, TNT loaded here (4 charge, 1 shot. Yes, all 5 blocks placed together)
-9th block length = just empty barrel, for style purposes.
Ok, now heres the main functions with wiring.
-piston at block 3 = This is a floodgate. It is used so that when the cannon is opened for reloading, the wiring isnt destroyed. This is wired through an inverter to the main lever. Repeater with 1 tick delay will be needed.
-blocks 4-8 = the side blocks at 4-8 will be pulled down by sticky pistons, acting as the reloading chamber. The istons are to be wired to the main lever with a 10-tick delay, so that water doesnt flow over exposed wire needed for the pistons to function properly.
Here's the wiring for the actual firing mechanism.
-Lever = Master control. hooked to all other wiring in cannon. Main fuse set at 12-14 tick delay before reaching the actual cannon.
-Charge power = a wire with no other delay runs straight along the top of the barrel to power the charge. Stop the wire at the 4th TNT block (block 7 of the cannon).
-Shot power = at the first block on top of the barrel (over the water chamber), this wire splits on to whatever side does NOT have the sticky piston door. Run repeaters all the way down to the 4th block. At the 5th TNT block (The shot), place a redstone wire (should make cross shape). Set all the repeaters to 4, except the last one. set this one to 2. Make sure your water chamber has water, and run a test shot. Screenshots pending.
I hope you guys like my design. I would appreciate any feedback or problems in the desgin.
Well, i'm not huge into cannons, so i'm having a very difficult time understanding this. But I'd be willing to bet that if you had screenshots, it would be a lot easier to comment.
coolstorybro it takes a while to understand the lever has to be in the EXACT block but i got it to work and im impressed nice job! TEH TNT BADGE OF HONOR <-with cirtification of authentisity of course

Looking forward to that though.
um...i think its gone somewhere from 30-50 blocks (horizontal), but that's firing it at a place lower than the cannon itself.
It takes a total idiot to go up to the dragon, and say hello to it.
Idon't have access to youtube so no videos but tomorrow i dont have school so i may do screenshots
