A good way to extend the simple build underground. If you use the original cabin as a module, you can build repeating modules up, down, and out away from the initial. This approach can yield a consistent visual theme across many different structures with easy site planning. Glad you're trying it out!

Being off the ground is to stay safe from flooding. >_> Actually no, it's to have a better view, and to keep away from things like this:
Speaking of the view:
Got blown up by a creeper working on it, but didn't lose anything luckily because my spawn point is under the completed dome. I have another under construction, and plans for a third structure, of a different but still nice shape. It'll have 2 floors clearly in sight above the ocean floor, with a nether theme and a portal on the upper floor under a domed ceiling. That torch on the left of the picture is a marker for an above ground skeleton dungeon. I've looted taken everything from the chest, but otherwise everything is there. Someday soon I'll tear the side of the cliff off, and put a lot of glass fences in.
I think it's pretty good, even though it doesn't quite look right to me... if anyone has any advice... I worked all through the night, and now it's day so I couldn't test out the bed. If no one else does with their house I will next time it's night.

Everything I build is 100% legit. No mods, no tools, nothing but time and effort.
I like the idea of putting the cabin on stilts. If spiders can't climb up fences, you've thought of a good way to avoid the dangerous bed placement when not playing on peaceful. Nice!

This is what I had in mind. With a simple module, extending the design to generate a visually cohesive collection of structures which are simple and easy to build and fit well together! Well done!

Wow, this setup for a newborn house is great, my current house is.. well, almost completely different from the original. But hey, just goes to show what can change in such a simple house. (BTW different texture packs make this house look way better. Eg. Jolicraft or Painterly). Also might just add, this is my save on Risugami's new world generator, High Recommendation :biggrin.gif:

I just created a new thread with a large cabin build using the same style and dimensions as this one here. An example of what you can do with such a basic idea.

I just want to say I really like this build, it is very cozy and easily extendable. I added a basement to mine with the same 5x5 dimentions, as a nice reading/crafting room. That way the only thing on the main level is the bed, so even this small build looks spacious and airy :smile.gif:

Great and also you should make like a Giant courtroom/house (Roman or Chinese style) since i made a chinese house and i don't know what to make with it.
For a more complex tutorial, could you consider teaching us how to make big columns or pillars that could be placed outside a grand gate; I can't seem to get them to look right. If anybody ever does, feel free to PM me.
Made this out of that.
Dont look at my road!
Looking inside my farm

And when I woke up:
So a two floored cabin with a bed upstairs would probably work just fine.
