Im not a;l that good at redstone tbh but i think i might have an idea as to how you can do evolutions. Using scoreboards each pokemob would have there levels and so forth and when they reach a certain level a command will execute and replace the pokemob with another. not sure if it works but thats the best that i got

Could always try, but I'm not sure about how this can be implemented. Maybe a book?
A book would work, could have custom lore and all that and possibly you could click something in the book and it gives you a map withe pokemob on it with stats like weight and height and stuff

Well it looks like the pokemon you have is based on scoreboard, with every pokemob added to the scoreboard it would give you an updated book. Would probably take up alot of command blocks but maybe for each entry it spawns a redstone block on command blocks that gives you the book based on the order you get it in.

I guess the easiest way to do this is to have a single book for each Pokémon. Then, depending on the Pokémon captured, you'll receive the appropriate book.

I applied earlier this thread, and I stated I am very experienced with redstone/command blocks. We'd have to make a book for every pokemon that when you encounter/catch it adds one to the scoreboard, a redstone clock testforing the scoreboard for one on that person, with a comparator to teleport the book to a chest (no one can access) that I can hook up my contraption to make it automatically replace the old pokedex that player's inv for the new one. I tried testing it out earlier but I encountered one problem. Maximum of 50 pages in MC book.

is this map going to be doing a poke enter that can randomly generate I in the map or are you planning on doing one in general? If I get accepted I can definitely help with that!

I think I'll have to go with separate books. One per Pokémon, that is. Having a single book update would require a task far too arduous.

Both ideas sound great. =) I think I'll still stick with the plan of re-making the map from Fire Red.
Yes; that's probably the only way it can work.
Hopefully early next month.

Sure! However, I'll need to see some of your work before deciding to choose you for the position.
