Just tried to catch some villagers for my iron farm and it appears that you can't catch them using minecarts any more? Is this a known issue, or intentional, or am I suddenly doing something wrong? Place track under villager - place minecart on track - villager just steps out of minecart?
still works fine for me, i'd suggest you just try again. not sure what you mean about the villager steps out of minecart.... u should have to break the cart to get the villager out.
Well what happens is that I place the track under the villager and while the villager is still standing on the track, I place a minecart on the track. Normally at this point the villager would then be caught in the cart right? But he just wanders off as though the cart isn't there. Tried pushing villagers into the minecart too. Nothing works and been trying this for two days now. Never had a problem doing this before. Just wondered if something changed after the patch the other day but I simply can't get it to work since then.
I recently noticed villagers out of a breeder system no longer fall into mine carts as they used to. It takes a little jiggle to get them into carts but it still works. I ending up placing a mine cart directly in front of them, then push the cart into them. Bump the villager or cart a couple of time and it should work. Have a block behind the villager to stop the cart and villager from getting/rolling away.
Tried it again and its working now. What I was doing before was placing an powered rail under them and this definitely doesn't work, but a normal rail seems to work. Not sure if this is commonly known or a recent change, but either way it's working for me now! Thanks for peoples answers though.
