has anyone noticed any issues with spawners recently? I build a quick little xp farm from a skeleton spawner and it was all working fine but then an hour later, after i had been prettying up the entrance passage etc, i killed the skeletons that were there and in the hour since have had like 4 spawn. Now I am in range for the spawner to be active where i stand (i can see it on fire) though i am right on the edge, if i step back a further block it deactivates, the skeletons are being pushed out to this same distance, which is to my knowledge outside of the counting box the spawner uses to check for mobs so i am a little confused as to why the spawning seems to have stopped
I think you are right that mobs are suppose to ignore spawn limits. However that doesn't seem to be the case. The only mob spawners I have that work well are in an area that is all lit up.
I had this problem with my xp farm. I just went in and expanded it a little bit, and that seemed to work. I guess you could try that, otherwise I'm not really sure what else you can do.
But the area already covers the entire space they can spawn in, the walls then cover the entire area that it checks for them in - bar of course the water passage to get them out of there, so expanding wouldnt make any difference surely
