Unless I'm misinformed or it has slipped by in a past update, can we please increase the mob cap on the newer consoles!?! I've made two endermen farms now, on both consoles, and am very dissapointed when all my many hours of work reveals only like 30 endermen at a time! Please! There must be the pro cessing power to increase the mob cap! We enlarged worlds by 36 times, why do we still have the same mob cap?
I agree, I made a spawner, enderman, and I get to level 30 in 3-5mins. But there's a mob cap that prevents spawner full efficiency . Sucks, please increase.
I made a new blaze spawn trap on a world (non-transferred) that I didn't enter the nether until the latest patch and can confirm that the mob cap has been lifted. Of course that relates to a tremendous amount of lag, like crazy lag.
I believe they did increase it compared to the xbox 360, but not sure. I just noticed that I had tons of animals all over the place on my xbox one world compared to the 360. If thats not the case then it would be cool if they would update that. I was using a large world on xbox one. Not sure if that makes a difference, but probably.
I've noticed a ridiculous amount of mobs at my zombie spawner farm (aswell as huge frame rate dips). So i decided to do some testing using the leaderboards for mob counting. After 20 minutes wait, i went from 2783 to 3055 zombie kills. Thats almost 300 mobs!! Tested a few more times and got similar results.
It's hard for me to say what the cause is, as i just got my xbox one for christmas. I can't definitively say whether it's the latest update, or if next gen consoles have always been like this? Either way, it's kind of dangerous. I don't want to test this any further as i don't want my xbox to melt already!!
I'm speculating here, but perhaps mob spawners are forcing spawning beyond the 70 hostile mob count for 'naturally' spawned mobs. And because they're still close enough to me, they don't despawn?
I believe spawners break the rules somewhat as they only check within their 9x9 spawn radius for mobs and space before firing up. This means they will continue to produce mobs as long as their spawn radius is clear, even if there are already 100 mobs just below the radius. This is only documented as a fact on the PC, but I've never seen anything to show its any different on the console. Moving the mobs away from the spawner always seems to result in an endless supply of them, and lag.
Yes mojang if you see this (i doubt it) please please please hire more employees and get us a reasonable mob cap. I swear on everything i hold dear when i say that my current chicken farm (extremely important for my arrow production) is letting me have 12 to 14 chickens MAXIMUM at one time! on a brand new powerful system like xbox one that is absolutely ridiculous! i can have a world 32 times bigger but have a farm with 12 chickens before that stupid message pops up saying" maximum limit of this breeding animal has been reached " or somthing to that effect. i seriously want to cry i thought for 100 percent sure that there would be at least double the limit on xbox one but i see now that i made myself look like a ass by ASSuming this. WOW mojang just WOW.......:(

1. Mojang doesn't touch the Xbox. 4j studios does that
2. They don't need to hire more people to fix this. They would need to create space in order to do so. This would mean either limiting other factors or making them more efficient somehow.
3. Chikena cap at 25. They are seperate from all other mob limits. Sheep cows pigs and even horses all share the same limit.
if it means cutting back somewhere else, I'm perfectly fine with the 25. I'd rather a limit here than else where.
My my suggestion to you is that you search out those trapped animals at night so that they arnt affecting your cap.

This is not to say that I think the mob cap is ok, I definitely want the mob cap upped, but I like having a skeleton spawner farm as an XP farm, and the side benefit is not only are you getting boatloads of XP for hanging out and doing nothing, but also, more arrows than you will ever know what to do with. The hardest part is finding your skeleton spawner to begin with.
Blazes dropping glowstone dust is the best thing the console version has done. Whenever I go to my XP farm I have the bonus of getting tons of glowstone without having to work so hard to find it.
As for the mob limit, with the increased limit in the Xbox One version I've actually dismantled my cow and pig farms in favor of just hunting with a looting sword. I have so many animals spawning that I have all the food and leather I need (feathers aren't a priority as Infinity bows rock). My only real issue is with sheep; I feel sheep should be in a separate category than the other animals for limit purposes, as a lot of people rely on large numbers of sheep for wool based projects. I've felt this especially as I use the City texture pack exclusively and have recently started using the various wools for modern houses/buildings/military vessels. Would be cool to gather materials for these projects on a faster, larger scale.
After building my auto chicken farm/cooker, I can only have 7 chickens in the top, egg producing part. After breeding up to 7, it says breeding chicken limit reached, or whatever. There are no other chickens anywhere, I'm in plains, so no animals stuck on ledges. I have a stable with 2 cows, 2 pigs, and 2 sheep. Also a horse and a donkey. That's all. I've gone below and lit up everything, so I don't know why I've got such a crappy amount of chickens.

Agree. I much prefer to hunt the animals now. But sheep do need to be a category of their own. Wool doesn't go far so having a good size sheep farm is a must for any decent builds. And I don't want the sheep farm affecting the availability of the other animals in the wild.

yea this right here is ridiculous. for the record i have searched high and low all over my freaking world and to no avail. the thing that i REALLY don't understand is how can the xbox one support the same exact size chicken farm as my xbox 360 world did? i had 12 on 360....i have 12 now with no more to be found anywhere! and i also have a laptop from 2007 thats probably half the power of the xbox one or even less and i have a 100+ chicken farm no problem not too mention all kinds of other mobs all over that freaking place! can some one please explain how this is even remotely possible? xbox one is a modern and powerful console thats Dedicated to graphics, unlike a pc that has to worry about processing many other things than just graphics. i'm just absolutely so disappointed in this. And feel like we have been given the shaft with excuses instead of somthing that should easily be possible on this brand new system....12 chickens WOW ....7 chickens SERIOUSLY?.....4 CHICKENS OMG WHAT IS GOING IN THE WORLD!
and as I said above... it has been
my animal farms alone capped out the passive mob cap on the world, I never found any anywhere, little holes, ledges, nowhere.
and now after increasing world size they are ALL over again and I can breed my farm animals again

At least you have seven, I only have four.
