Ever since TU12 has gone into cert testing, aswell with a Live stream TU12 preview, i couldnt help but re-read the patch notes over & over. I guess im hyping myself up but i noticed a small little minor detail. It has to do with the new Lava sounds thats coming in TU12. It says "Lava now has a faint rumbling sound effect, and large particles that hop out of the lava produce a popping sound". The thing that makes me raise an eyebrow is that this feature is already in Minecraft right now as we speak...TU11. If you dont believe me, go & find a lava source & listen. Its just wierd that its mentioned in TU12s changelog & currently we already have it. I just had to share this with everyone even though its not really a big deal or game changer, its just wierd that its there
And I'm assuming it's a change of sound, rather than adding a sound to the soundless. It currently goes sort of "gloop" which doesn't really fit the description of "rumbling".
Does it even matter?... Whether it "gloops" or "pops" or "rumbles", it certainly doesn't matter to me... as long as it makes some sort of noise and doesn't sound like water, I'm able to recognize that I'm near lava and react accordingly.

I'm with you on that. That's why I've been kind of confused by the listing for it in the patch notes. Why would they change the sound that's already there? It seems to work fine for me. Not that it generally stops me from digging holes in places I shouldn't, but that's why I carry water buckets.

It's listed in the 1.2 change log for the PC version. If it was brought forward on the Xbox, then it was probably an oversight that it was missed in that earlier change log and, therefore, not taken out of the list for this change log. Whether or not it changes again really doesn't matter to me at all. We'll find out when we hear it.
However, some people do seem to freak right out whenever the Xbox version doesn't have exactly the same sounds as the PC (something that is quite evident if you read the lengthy lists of alleged sound bugs on the Official Bugs thread - even picking apart the exact pitch of some of the sounds). Shrug.

The only thing I ever freaked out about was the missing cave ambience noises. I even got a response from 4JSteve saying they would look into it. Now in TU12, they're finally being added.

I certainly wasn't exactly referring to you MG. I can see where the missing cave noises actually affects the game play. However, you have to admit that a lot of the other sound beefs on the long lists that some people have posted to the bugs thread really wouldn't have much impact on how the game is actually played... and this thread seems to be all about complaining about a sound that probably has already been added being listed on this round's change log.

I knew you weren't referring to me. I just like sharing lol
A lot of people do over react to things though. The mountains of posts about how the XP Orb sounds were wrong was a little ridiculous.
My guess is its a sound "change", from the occasional plop sound to a more consistant bubbling or rumbling sound. Maybe its louder as well, since that was an often reported "bug". The thing that's new is the "popping" sound of particles. I also wonder if the drip particles were fixed so they don't appear black anymore.
All in all, the current lava sound works fine for me. I'm never "surprised" by lava like I was playing earlier versions of MCX360. Not to say I haven't fallen into lava when mining at y11, where the lava sound is omnipresent...

Oh im not complaning at all, im just merely addressing a possible mistake on a Changelog. It would have been cooler if they mentioned that they changed the textures for lava (it has a new look now in TU12 according to the live stream) and also how water as a moving motion in cauldrons (also seen in TU12 live stream). If it does have a new sound, Great! I just hope its audible enough.

Again, neither of those two things really affects game play, so I'm just as happy that they left them out of the change log. It means less reading and perhaps left a couple of "nice surprises" in the update that I could have just noticed when playing.

I wouldn't count the Livestream as a reliable source of info on TU12.
When they showcased the "new" lava sound it sounded exactly the same to me. There was a total of two occasional "plops" and that was it. I'm in the boat with the people that think the Livestream was an un-finalized version of the update.
The PC version has a different lava noise than the Xbox, Its more of a constant rumbling, almost like spaghetti sauce cooking, I assumed thats what they meant, If so thats great, it makes mining safer, you can hear the lava before you dig into it
Maybe they don't want the lava sounding like fire. That makes a pop sound. I could see them changing it just because they don't think it sounds real and they want it too. I don't really care either way. What I have an issue with when it comes to lava (or not because its kind of a good thing) is when I open up a spot in a wall and lava is on the otherside it takes some time to pour out and I can backup and get cobblestone down in its path before it gets close enough. I don't carry water buckets because of this. When I open up a wall and water is on the other side it rushes out and gravel will bonk me on the head in no time.
