Hello, I am very new to this forum but not that new to Minecraft Xbox. I have a fairly new world but it has A LOT of exciting builds etc. My most recent build is a 1500+ Chest capacity warehouse that will be able to store a nearly infinite supply of building blocks to start creating some masterpieces.
However;
Recently, after just completing and to be honest about half of the way through the completion of the warehouse my gamesave/server on xbox has become EXTREMELY laggy. Both for me as host and for my guests joining. My guests say it is impossible to play on and for me it has gotten very very bad as well. Just wondering if anyone has any tips on this or a similar experience? Or if any mods on this forum could be of any assistance.
Things to note:
- this happened the day of the TU8 (not sure if that is a coincidence or not)
- No changes to my bandwidth have been made (750kbs max out so its not the internet)
- No mods or changes to the gamesave have been made
- The lag isnt chest lag it is just whole world lag. (except for nether it seems to be completely fine)
- the further you are away from the warehouse the more tolerable the lag is, although it is still there.
Thanks again for any insight on this topic, any help or input is appreciated!

is it possible that you are using signs to mark what is in each? That has been a bit of trouble for a while, although they did reduce the lag a bit from those, just not completely... Unsure what else it could be really, as my storage place on my old world is fine. Of course I didn't use signs for them; I used the blocks themselves to mark what is in each.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
Too many chests in one area have lagged it before. That, or too many signs.
This has been my experience. I've got a section of my City map that lags because i made a factory and warehouse and used chests to make the warehouse section functional. Even after removing the signs the place still lags pretty bad. I found that reducing the number of chests took it down to an acceptable level.

How large is this particular gamesave file. To check go to your XBox dashboard = Settings = Storage = Select the Storage Device this gamesave is on = Games and Aps = Minecraft = Look for the World name on the list and the file size should be listed for it. My world saves are mostly running abot 19 MB (without any exceptionally large builds on them). I have been getting some graphics lag (offline) in some of them; but nothing too extreme so far.
It seems the more blocks that are in the map, the slower it becomes.
I attempted to cover the entire Overworld sky in Lapis Lazuli Blocks.
After the bottom quarter was fully covered (around 240,000 blocks), the world is becoming laggy...even offline! ...So much to the point that I swapped from Normal to Peaceful and three Zombies stayed in place for 2 seconds before despawning. ._.

That is the thought I have as well. May I ask how big that gamesave file is now? Is it a superflat world?
i have made warehouses with about 400 chest and haven't had a problem. could you divide the warehouse into 3 or 4 areas maybe a hundred blocks away and then connect them with high speed rail line? Not sure if that would solve the issue or not.
Okay sorry everyone I just got back from work and was unable to view the posts. Thanks for the input I will remove signs and see if it will change much. If not I think I will test to see if a newer xbox will help. I plan to transfer the game save to a friends to see if his newer xbox will be able to support the large amount of video data. The game save right now is 19mb and it is not a superflat. I do have the warehouse pretty near the main hub of my world, but there is no changing that since I want the warehouse to be at the centre of the world. I suppose I could split the warehouse up into different sections but I would prefer to keep it together. Any other tips out there?
Please avoid doubleposting. It gets irritating.
Unfortunately, chests and other sorts of blocks that have tile entities usually take up a lot of space. So, you are kind of out of luck unless you have a way to get fewer chests.
Okay sorry about the double post Im still really new to this forum. Would moving the chests away from the main location help?
for example if i split the warehouse in half or so?

A newer model of 360 will not help you, they are almost exactly the same in terms of performance. My best guess is shared with 90% of those who posted here, either too many chests or signs.

Thanks for the info on the file size. It's the same as mine. I only have a very little bit of lag, so I don't think that is your issue.
