Okay so I've been reading about skins and 4j's need of income. Here is an idea they might want to consider to make consumers happy and increase consumer base.
1. make a skin creator for 800 ms. [this will give consumers what they want and not feel they are being spoonfed creations. After all minecrafts main gameplay feature is creation]
2. For the sake of both income and extra-playable features create a rent-a-server for about 1600 ms a month this will give players the option to create 24 hour servers to make worlds much more diverse.
I would love input to see what the community thinks about this idea. Keep in mind this is reasonable as a console will never be a pc when it comes to features but it can come close.

And how do you stop people on this Skin creator from making a cock skin, lol, that would offend no end of xbox live users, or racist comments or relgious symbols the list goes on.
have an option that hides user skins [automatically set to off by default] and a report player option that sends a message to the xbox dashboard of the server host.
as for non-server option just delete them from your friends list.
black-ops cod people have it all the time I don't see any one complaining.

That's simple. Have each created skin applied for approval by a skin server. Also have an in game report process by taking a screenshot and tagging it with the offender.
The technology is there and it could be done rather easily... but they want money... so there will be lots of skin packs in the future. Get use to it... or boycott it. Your choice.
Offensive skins isn't really an issue imo, XBL is full of idiots and most people just ignore it. As for the create a skin editor, there was a twitter quote from 4J knocking around that said "it's something they'd like to do in the future". but they gotta go through microsoft and they'd much rather ***** out a million different skins as DLC packs than release an editor that you'll only ever download once. That's just my opinion, it might happen but it'll likely take a long time.
Yeah I kinda expected that from Microsoft they love giving their consumers the PD when ever they can. I still think they can make it happen if they pushed hard enough.
I keep seeing this issue everywhere... it's like parents don't monitor their kids anymore, so everyone has to make sure that everything is "kid friendly" all the time.
I mean, if you don't want your kids to see user-created content, TURN OFF THEIR ABILITY TO.
But don't restrict my freedom of speech (signs) and freedom of expression just because kids could potentially see something they shouldn't, especially when their parents could just monitor them to make sure that doesn't happen.
That's like outlawing cursing because kids could potentially hear it.
agreed! they'll happily let kids play Call Of Duty all and day have them tell everyone how they've ****ed thier mothers, but god forbid they should see something offensive.

The difference is that the CoD games are 18+ - kids aren't technically meant to be playing them, so the developers can include things intended for an older audience. Minecraft is a 7, so 4J have to adhere to the restrictions of that age bracket.
Yet on the CoD games, they still censor user-created content, such as clan tags and class names. Back when I used to play those games, I couldn't name one of my classes "Assault", because it was censored.
I mean, kids don't have to join my game and read my sign that says "Hoes". There parents could just be like, "No, Billy, you don't know that person. Don't play in his world."
It just seems like they're trying to throw a blanket over a problem, instead of actually fixing it. Of course, they're also incorrectly identifying the problem... The problem isn't that people just looooove to make naked people skins. The problem is that parents just let their kids do whatever they want, so the game developers have to babysit their kids for them.
