Microsoft E3 announcement: Minecraft (Mojang, Microsoft Studios): Known for its limitless possibilities, Minecraft will come to life this winter in a whole new way through the magic of Kinect and also feature cross-functionality between the PC and Xbox 360 versions.
What is the cross-functionality between PC and Xbox 360?
I understand this may not suggest cross-platform play, but what can I do between the two platforms?
It would be really cool to hear from 4J, but I understand that 4J wasn't the original source of the announcement. Do I need to go contact MS to find out what this feature is (or isn't)?

I am curious as to what and how they will integrate with Kinect
Kinect may be integrated in like Skyrim... Voice commands may work, bnut if they think I'm gonna act like I'm swinging a pick axe for hours they're effing crazy!

I have a hard time seeing how they are going to handle cross platform play, but they must get up to the PC feature set before that can even become a possibility. I also am not missing the Connect in MineCraft. It seems adding it just to have it is a bad decision, and it should have been programmed in from the start if they really wanted it. Noting new here, but just saying we have to give it time to see if it will even be remotely possible. Time will tell the tale.
I need a kinect voice command that everytime I yell "Oh (insert expletive here)" My game instantly saves
Hahaha!!
Seriously, a little more than a year ago someone hacked the Kinect, hooked it up with minecraft, and you were able to put yourself into the landscape. Something like that would be totally useless, but cool.
is a video of what I am talking about.
And BTW, when did they take away the ability to post a video in a message? Kinda sucks, IMO.

The way I interpret it, it might not suggest cross-platform play necessarily but instead some function that works between the platforms. If I can send a Golden Apple by way of carrier piggy to an Xbox player - I would consider that cross-functionality. The version difference wouldn't really matter.
Another example might be allowing Xbox players to use the skin they've registered on minecraft.net.

Sounds Awesome! But the skins would probly be in the DLC for 25cents LOL
Might be able to go on PC servers and the like from the xbox. That would be awesome, but that probably wont happen for quite some time...
As for Kinect functionality if they're smart they'll just do what Skyrim does and use it to navigate the menus easier such as saying "Open crafting; Tools"
Because well, tedious menu scrolling isn't a problem really but it just makes it so much easier =P
5 days, 2 tweets, 3 phone calls and 4 Xbox Support Chat representatives later.... here's the (only) answer I've received:
"Latonya: Thanks for your patience to the best of my knowledge, this is something that is still being worked on, the interface with the Kinect, and the ability to tie your online game to your Xbox game - but all the details have not yet been worked out."
So Latonya is under the impression we will have the ability "to tie your online game to your Xbox game" sometime in the future.
Excuse the colors, that was a cut and paste... but I'm too lazy to remove them....

This thread bores me.

!!!!AMEN!!!!!
Or when you fall into lava with your newly aquired diamonds.
Priceless
"2 creepers, one bucket" reaction videos all over youtube. I like it.
This would be fine.
If we could get special Xbox 360 capes or something, that would be fine, too.
