I'm excited for this. I've been waiting 4 months for this game. I dont have a pc. The only thing I have is MCPE. But the world size seems fine, i get lost in MCPE so I cant even imagine a 1000x1000 world, lol
Unless you have a random person come into your world and 'No-Life' your minerals and resources for a week straight and then never join the world again, you shouldn't have any resource problems.. lol.
I don't own the PC version, but I tried creating a creative world on Total Miner (Don't judge me....) with the dimensions 1024x1024 and it is massive. The only thing I'm worried about is half of the map being water.

I think it may take a few tries to find a map I like.

Same here. I mainly want one with vast amounts of mountains.

If my math is correct (please correct me if I'm wrong) the world will each consist of 128,000,000 blocks. 1000x1000x128. Spread that out and alternate block types and you'll still have what appears to me, in number size, rather large.
I believe they did this because to make an infinite world on an Xbox would take a remarkable amount of storage data. On average a server will easily reach 1-2 GB. Singleplayer, probably 50-300MB. And it's likely they will re-integrate infinite maps in future updates. Remember, this is not the final build.
okay people, time for a little bit of math, and try to make sure your head doesnt explode from this.
1000x1000 blocks is the maps length and width, adding in the 128 vertical you now have 1000x1000x128
now that all looks rather small when they are individual numbers but lets put them together to see what the actual area you get is.
well 1000x1000 is 1,000,000.
and with 128 layers of that you now have 128,000,000 blocks of space to mess with, so stop complaining and start digging, come back when you run out

My thoughts..... Its freaking Minecraft!!! On the XBOX!!!!!!!! 'nuff said! *Bows out gracefully*
Which is why people freak (I do too somewhat) when something is different from the PC version. They're skins, map sizes, split-screen, and many more NEW changes and features to this Minecraft version. Is it still really Minecraft? There's a breaking point when the game isn't Minecraft anymore; Either its past that point or still below it and still Minecraft. This is us voicing our opinions to say whether we think it is passed that point or still below it.
well, I bought the game, and played it for about ten minutes. The map restriction REALLY cuts back on the adventure aspect of the game (Which I personally enjoyed a lot) Another problem I have with the size, my first map I created had at least 70% water, not shallow 1 black stuff that you can dig under, this was deep water probably about 20-30 blocks deep. Other than that the game seems to run very well, the menus are fairly well laid out, and I am glad that there is no hunger at this point
I agree completely with you TC, as is, the 1000x1000 is decent and 2000x2000 would be sufficient enough to make the world large enough to satisfy some people. I do know some friends who insist on going over 5,000 away from spawn, but that's usually on a server so they can have a private house away from prying eyes. This version of the game seeming to be more personable, especially with the inclusion of splitscreen actually makes the limit doable in comparison. Time will tell when I'll exhaust some of the more precious resources in a world on the Xbox version, but I have a feeling it'll take a long while just by myself, 8 people will definitely drain it pretty quick.
I have to correct someone who said the Xbox processor was not good enough to run a larger world seeing how Castleminer z a indie game is an endless world(least i think it is) Xbox could handle it I gurantee it. I do apologize in advance if im wrong.
I'm assuming the seed generator would still be random for each new world? i wouldn't want to start in the same 1000 x 1000 area every time i started a new game
I concede...
You are 100% right about every one of your opinions.
Now I have to go... things to do!

You took exactly what I said... I feel robbed.
many spaces makes it easier to understand for the trolls.

Jeez.
Minecraft is about freedom and endless world, so that your creativity is the only thing stopping you...
When you try to be creative in this world, you will bang your head into the wall the whole time.
Hope they make the world bigger soon... wayyy to small. And with 8 players its just ...bah...
Lol..
There is no harm in putting up a wish list for the developers, what the majority would like to see be improved.
This is exactly what developers want their fans to do, so they know what to do, so they can earn more money.
