Guys, the 360 is old technology, and most computers are more powerful than it, the reason good graphic games don't run awfully on an xbox or a ps3 is because developers are able to optimize games for that specific system, while computer games have to work with all sorts of mixed and matched parts, console games only have to work with one specific build.
I highly doubt it would have any FPS lag, while it might have some network lag depending on your network connection/the server you're on.
im tired of talk about this, 512 of ram on xbox is equal a 1 or 2 gigas of ram in a PC,
xbox don´t have windows (linux or mac) is a closed circuit and dont affec with the problems of one computer :|
It came out 7 years ago, but they have upgraded it to be able to run high-end games. Can a 7 year-old computer run Call of Duty?
Call of Duty is a terrible example.

So you're trying to tell me the Xbox 360 isn't 7 years old? Okay. Makes perfect sense, because it totally didn't come out in 2005, right?
did i said xbox 360 didn't came out 7 years ago btw did i say anything about xbox? i said if a average computer from 7 years ago could run crysis just asking that
Xbox's tend to run games better then a a PC with the same specs would. An Xbox doesn't have nearly as much stuff running in the background then a PC. People with little technical knowladge tend to underestimate consoles.
Though, a homebuilt PC will always win. Hell, my GPU alone costs more then a 360.

Well if the Xbox 360 came out 7 years ago and averagely-powered computer parts were used to build it 7 years ago, then an average computer from 7 years ago can run Crysis. The Xbox 360 is a computer itself, optimized specifically for gaming, as each game that comes out for it is optimized specifically for the Xbox 360. The parts used for the Xbox 360 when it was built was a tri-core Xenon CPU by Intel and a 500MHz Xenos GPU by AMD.
I'm not much for one in history, but I'd guess these parts were quite above-average when the Xbox 360 was in early development, but by the time it was released in 2005 they were likely average or just below average in gaming performance.
Now, about a 7 year old home (non-gaming) PC from 2005, it probably couldn't run Crysis due to compatibility reasons. If it was built for gaming, it probably could. There's a lot of variables in it.
Anyway, this has gone way too far off-topic. Put it simply the Xbox 360 is built for gaming and added with the fact Minecraft for Xbox is being coded in a different, more compatible language, my guess is that the Xbox 360 will run Minecraft at a solid 60fps, although if they can't optimize it enough for that it would probably run somewhere at 30fps.

It's funny how every thread in this section turns into a flame war, this time about PC versus Xbox capabilities. Thanks Minecraft Forums, we've had a good run, but it's time to say goodbye to the idiots and snobs that rule the forum.

As ive seen on Youtube videos and the trailer, it looks like it will run pretty smooth in singleplayer, and it looks like the settnings are |Fancy|Far/Normal|Smooth lighting|.
But the multiplayer depends on internet connection but it should run just as smooth as the singleplayer
I dont know about Online/Offline Split screen mode (AKA co-op), becuase in games like Left 4 dead 2 split screen has a little bit of lag, but i think it will run pretty smooth too. :laugh.gif:
"Minecraft is made in Java.
Minecraft is a three-dimensional infinite sandbox.
Java is not designed for infinite graphics.
Therefore Minecraft is an awesome exception to logic."
The reason for "lag" is this.
The xbox is basically a supercomputer using a tv for a monitor, without running Java.
As such, it will run epicly.

There are some videos on youtube that are showcasing Minecraft on the Xbox 360 and it looks smoother than most lets plays. I'm going to say that it will be 120 frames per second.
They've had to make it so the world isn't infinite for it to run properly. I don't think so.
Of what I realy think is that its going to have a limit to how much it does, I dont know if we ever got around to solving this mystery but about minecarts and going extreme distances and if it went the full way or not. What I think here is that the will probaly stop at at certain point, possibly disappear, lose contents, or somesort. Imsure thats what they are working on now or other long distant things like redstone.
Okay. (I have next to 0 knowledge about computers :biggrin.gif:) If the lag in minecraft (FPS issues) results from the game being coded in Java (which someone said was highly resource dependent), is it not possible to re-code the game using something better? Someone else in the this topic mentioned the Xbox Live Arcade version of Minecraft by (4j? studios) using something else other than Java to code the game, why cannot a computer use something else? o.O Understanding computers is like trying to understand The Matrix...Ima go play my xbox now! xD
(Theres the chance that I just repeated myself alot of times asking this stuff, and ran my brain in confused circles)

Yes it can, upgrade it.
why would he need to upgrade it if a 7 year old pc has the same power as a xbox 360 so it could be able to run it?? im being sarcastic ._.
my gpu alone costs more than a xbox 360 too xd

No, most mobos of PCs that old aren't compatible with newer parts. I've tried it myself, actually.

Besides, do you have a TV that runs at 120Hz?
