I think that the possibilities of mods for Minecraft on the Xbox will be limited. Now, first off you need to keep in mind that you don't have a full keyboard when playing on the Xbox. You only have your controller. Now I'm guessing that they will add a USB Keyboard functionality, but the people that DON'T have a USB keyboard or the people that are just too damn lazy to plug one in will not be able to use the controls that the PC version of Minecraft uses. If you wanted to charge an item up using the Equivalent Exchange mod perhaps then you would need to press C (The default key). There is no "c" key on the Xbox 360 Controller. Therefore you would not be able to charge up the item you so wish to use. Now the people that DO have a USB keyboard will have no problem with the controls considering the fact that they have all around control of the controls. (Well that sounded weird) If they wanted to charge up an item then look at that, they have the "c" key. Secondly, How are you planning to get the mods on the Xbox itself? With a USB device maybe? No clue. It could happen. It sounds alright. Not that big of a deal. Thirdly, the updates. How the modding community all love those. On the PC version of Minecraft, it's not that hard to just say no to the updates. But on the Xbox whenever you need an update, you won't be able to play the game until you update. So if Notch, Mojang, or maybe Microsoft can change the system so that we DON'T need to update to play, then it would be alot easier for all of us. And finally, how are mod creators going to make money? If Notch adds full mod support and enables mods to be download on-screen (which is what I am thinking may happen) then how are we going to click adfly links? If we aren't clicking on any adfly links then the mod creators aren't making any money which will then turn into them not making any mods because as we all know mod creators need to be supported in order to make mods.
Anyways that was what I think will happen if Notch adds full mod compatibility to Minecraft on the XBLA.
i think that there should be no mods for the Xbox 360
personaly i find mods unneeded, when i have mods like TMI i refuse to do the fun things in minecraft like go mining
but thats me :tongue.gif:

I don't agree with finding mods unneeded but I agree that the Xbox version should remain vanilla...
By the way. I have a keyboard plugged into my controller. The keypad thing.
full mod support doesn't mean every single mod will be in-game. you will still go through all the same stuff you would normally do (except for placing them in the jar file, for pc) but then you would most likely do what you do for texture packs, where you just place the .zip into the correct folder. (again, for pc)
For xbox you would most likely just drop the .zip files into the minecraft folder on your xbox, but i dont ever see the xbox being able to read a .zip file.
If you can get mods on xbox, it will most likely be through usb, or connecting your hdd to your computer. But even if there is no mod support, there will always be xbox mods, just maybe not to the extent of pc mods, and the extremely low risk of getting banned.
Also, i doubt it will have mouse and keyboard support, so you'll have to get this thing called a chat pad, basically just a miniature keyboard that plugs into the mic jack on your controller. its like 5 bucks. (if you even want a keyboard)

They already support keyboards one the Xbox 360 even my wireless one I bought works. But as for mouse there maybe a few supported but I know people have made devices that allow full use of keyboard/mouse on Xbox 360 even allow button mapping.
This is being developed in coordination with Microsoft. Let's be honest here, Microsoft will not allow access to the game's install directory, much less the privilege requirements to write data to it.
There will be no mods for the XBLA version, or at least not in the same sense as there are mods now.

Yeah yeah I have the chatpad :tongue.gif: actually really useful.
Highly doubt that MS will allow any kind of modding on the Live version of the game. It's just the other titles - they are highly restricted by their policies. If you want to do any kind of modding, thats why you have the PC versions!
Microsoft DOES NOT allow 3rd party mods on their console. End of story, so please stop talking about it.
I also think that it's great that there will be no mods. To many people have gotten lazy because of mods. The Xbox version will force people to actually play the game instead of using mods to make it easier.

some mods make it really easy, but others such as the ones i use in my let's play add to it and doesn'tgenerally make Minecraft a whole lot easier. Unless you're just using the easy parts of the mods

Owned Minecraft for about 6 years... Never once seen Herobrine... Don't plan on it...:Iaxe:

they could do something like total miner with texture packs, they could be able to download in game, of coarse the mods would need to be re-wrote, for xbox controls, c++, etc.
I think there won't be any mods (as we know them), for the reasons stated above.
That said, it is possible to mod a save file only by jumping through quite a few hoops. (No kid, you can't do it). Note that this is a save file only, not the game itself, so with work you could give yourself a hundred arrows, but you can't change how the game itself works. If you don't think 4J isn't spending all this time and effort and not locking down it's program, you got another think coming.
However,
I've also learned to never underestimate the complete idiots here. Minecrafters are a breed all their own. Some modder will make it his Goal In Life to mod it. Doesn't matter what's involved, how much it cost, or how much time it takes. He must mod it. (The only way is to actually decompile the program code and rewrite it, but no matter). He will then post for all to see here that The Hero was able to mod the game (doesn't matter what mod- pick one) and post a link to the files that they can download to a USB and then upload to their xbox. Course that violates every MS rule, it probably won't work after the next update, may screw up your xbox, etc., etc., but that doesn't matter, does it? All that matters is that he can say HE was the first to successfully mod MC xbox! (Others will try it, find out how complicated it is, but you'll never hear about those failures....)
Then some idiot kids here will install it because they want to be "special", to be able to say they have something that no one else has, and because the thought of playing MC without mods is.... well, beneath somebody cool like them. (Well, that and they're so used to cheating they can't play a regular game of MC). They'll post about it too. They won't realize we think they're stupid, not cool. All that matters to them is that they can say "I'm running a mod and you're not, n00b!"
Do I think the xbox should have mods? No.
Do I think someone will eventually mod it? Don't be surprised.
Do I think Mojang/4J eventually cave in and allow mods as DLC (and charge for them!)? That wouldn't surprise me either.
They already support keyboards one the Xbox 360 even my wireless one I bought works. But as for mouse there maybe a few supported but I know people have made devices that allow full use of keyboard/mouse on Xbox 360 even allow button mapping.
Wow, really? I feel dumb now. I actually had no Idea there was already keyboard support. :tongue.gif:

Users lack the mental capacity to have intelligent discussion, and mods lack the mental capacity to make intellegent decisions... I give up trying to share my intelligence with the world.
Well, mods were not originally attended to Minecraft. Riasugi's (could spelled it wrong) Mod Loader was a add on someone made. Notch kept it to express peoples added ideas into Minecraft. He might make downloaded content, but as said. X-Box 360 doesn't allow mods, and content like that. My friend got in trouble for having Sandbox halo mods. They were fun to watch, but to risky. There's no way mods will make it. Even with a Flash Drive, something will happen. All we can do is hope for Minecraft to have a library of mods that you upload from your computer onto a live stream onto the X-Box. I'm working on a mod with a group, and it would be nice to see it on the X-Box, but the computer might be a small exclusive for this.
Anyways that was what I think will happen if Notch adds full mod compatibility to Minecraft on the XBLA.

yeah like the everfrost mod. (lolz i only say that bcause i am helping develop it)
