we were just talkin about this...
I hope its an inter-connectiveness where xbox and pcs can connect to the same server if this is the case then all existing servers will work...
also it probablly will go through live
and thirdly the scary thought is will it have servers/multiplayer at all... dum-dum-daaaaaaa! lol
Cross-platform multiplayer would make this huge, especially if there was a way to use your pc account on your xbox. I know there have been a few cross-platform games, but none of them had as big a fan base as minecraft.

Do you guys like mods? Do you like magic? Do you enjoy the idea of adding magic to minecraft? Check out my channel, and see just how awesome minecraft with magic can be! --> http://www.youtube.c.../darkpheonix005
How do you think the servers are gonna be? Are you gonna connect through xbox live? Is there gonna be a server list?
I'd like to hear your thoughts!
I guarantee it will be like every other Xbox game. Invite-only in private lobbies. That way, you won't have random people griefing your worlds, it will be your friends instead. Actually, I prefer the invite system over the servers. You aren't bothered with an incredible amount of rules and forced to roleplay by a bunch of nerds if you don't want to.

No, It's not going to have multiplayer.
Also, I don't think the next CoD game will have guns
You're not buying anything "again", technically speaking, it's a completely different game. It's like buying a copy of Black Ops for the PC, and then buying another copy for your Xbox
i do beleve that there will be no multiplayer on the xbox for minecraft because if you look at the minecraft slid on the xbox, look at were it would show the single and xbl info for the game. it does not say that it will have any multiplayer but you never now they could change it.

Watch the video on the homepage of the forums, its video shows a faded out multiplayer tab.

i guess portal 2 doesnt count... XD

Even if Multiplayer was included at the time of the first release to the Xbox LIVE Arcade, Microsoft has a strict policy on the way multiplayer servers work. FortressCraft and Total Miner get away with hosting console-to-console because they're an Indie Game and only moderated/ranked by the XNA Developers on Microsoft's website.
Microsoft are real sticklers about allowing console-to-console hosting and are adamant about hosting the servers themselves to ensure security. With such a big game like Minecraft, I'm sure Microsoft will take care of the servers.
DICE had issues when they released Battlefield 3 in getting Microsoft to allow them to host their own servers... and it was almost not released on Xbox because of that reason. (Can't find the article right now...)
The Servers for Minecraft for XBOX 360 will be the same server pc users use, meaning that it is cross-platform. You'll be able to join any pc server, except for the Servers that require CLIENT-SIDE MODS. As, it is impossible to install CLIENT-SIDE MODS on the xbox version.

also, can i download minecraft to my 360 using my existing account? i'd rather not buy it twice
there might be cross platforming but there might not be who knows? AND you must buy it again http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/808816-im-an-alpha-buyer-do-i-get-this-free/

Actually, If you look in the main menu for the xbox version, There is a multiplayer button there. OR IS IT??
Or both options would work too.
