here is a coordinate guide for everyone to use. when i forget my maps this little gem comes in handy. you can also fill in your map numbers on here. tell me if it's helpful to you (unfortunately this is the max zoom i can do in the forum for this webpage). copy and paste into wordpad or another editor to print in landscape after resizing or use this link to its .pdf already formatted to one landscape page: http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/File:Minecraft_2_corrected.pdf#
This is a good idea. I think it will be useful. How did you create it? I think it would also be interesting to have the same chart with all numbers divided by 8 for Nether coordinates.
mad myk - to answer your question as to how i created it, i used the spreadsheet program in open office (cant afford microsoft office). i kept screwing up by trying to find the best way to represent the coordinates on a grid. after several attempts this was my best result. if someone could do better that would be great. after finally nailing down what i liked i used the "export to pdf" feature in open office. it took me about 8 hours because i'm not really computer savvy with the open office "excel". it was quite frustrating for an oldster like myself but worth it.
since i am new to minecraft i have never gone to the nether world. i'm afraid i wont get around to making a grid for it. but never say never. please dont laugh at me... right now i am addicted to final fantasy 13. i know, i know... it's too linear. but nonetheless i'm determined to finish it. also i have been dabbling with cities skylines.
but as far as minecraft goes my grand kids "forced" me to play with them on the minecraft ps3 or i would never hear the end of it. now that i have the ps4 version i figured that i would make the chart because one of the little ones gets really mad when she gets lost looking for her sister or me (yes it's the little sister who cries). the most important thing is that even though i reluctantly played it, it is minecraft that brought us together as a family, especially since their grandmother recently passed away (my della). she loved it that i took the time to spend with them.
and finally as a last note, if you carefully notice there is no direction designation on the map. i spent hours debating whether i should mark out north, south, east and west. i decided against it because i noticed in the minecraft world there is no public consensus where north should be marked. the official minecraft view is that the sun rises in the north. but many people are more comfortable with the sun rising in the east, mirroring reality. so i decided to leave this unmarked so that the user (no tron reference inferred) can mark out what works best for him or her.
