Early last week I finally upgraded to windows 10 and have been playing that version of Minecraft as well and will use it for new worlds. Some things take getting used to as its a direct port of PE, the stonecutter, the extra resource needed to make a boat etc. I wasnt even sure if I was going to keep my first world on it, but then I came across a river that was surrounded a small body of land, that was enough to inspire me to build. After some landscaping I have begun work.
*Sand will be replaced wit black lass I f I ever find squid - if teres any.
I also explored a deep cave on a neighboring bit of land but fell in lava losing my inventory - what I had on me anyway, the rest was stored at home. I was on a very broken up ledge with lots of holes and fell trough onto a lava stream below. The good part is when I returned, I found 7 diamonds not far away. Some of my old stuff despawned in front of my eyes straight away as I couldnt find the cave initially I was left wit no iron, no wood, only sticks, a stone pick, a very used stone sword, a red mushroom and clay blobs.
I have no idea how the house will develop. its being built very on-the-fly with no plans.

I ventured to a nearby Roofed Forest biome to collect some Dark Oak Saplings. Then, I went back to my base, and now I'm in the process of clearing out a large area to start a tree farm. Also started adding some more obsidian around my base.
It's going to take awhile for me to clear out the entire space that I want, as I intend for it to be 13 blocks wide, 9 blocks high, and 30 blocks long or so. Once I'm finished with it, I'll probably slowly work on expanding the area even more.
Finished clearing out an entire forest biome, which will later be completely flattened out for a humongous wheat, potato, carrot, and beetroot farm. As of now I'll be using the wood for my iron farm I'll be building in the near future.

The important thing is not how long you live... It's what you accomplish with your life. While I live, I want to shine. I want to prove that I exist. If I could do something really important... That would definitely carry on into the future. My spirit will always live on. And so if I were to disappear... I think that all I have accomplished will go on. That would mean that it's living. I finished clearing out an area that I'm later going to turn into a tree farm, and I also discovered a Nether Fortress not too far away from my portal. It's pretty much a straight shot. Now I'm working on converting the lava pool room into a base so I can stay in the Nether as long as I want without having to go back to the Overworld for supplies.
I am a poor builder but I ran across this abandoned village so I decided to take a stab at fixing it up a bit. There's a zombie spawner nearby so I'll be repopulating the village for my minions.

I've been busy working on my Nether Fortress base. I created a portal inside of it, and it took me to a Roofed Forest biome within close proximity of a small village. I've been hunting Wither Skellys for their skulls, and I have 2 so far even without a Looting Sword. I don't plan on fighting the Wither anytime soon though. I had collected 7 skulls in my old world, so right now I'm just trying to surpass that.
Also, this happened:
lol. I guess he wants to be a Wither Skelly when he grows up.
I recently have been fine tuning my Guardian Farm i just built; i didnt realise potions had to be manually thrown to get the XP and rare drops, but now i've incorportaed a manual throw point where i can drop Instant Damage II potions on the collected Guardians. The XP rate is really good, because of the number of Guardian spawns. My farm also probably only uses around 10% of the total available Guardian spawning area, so its even more suprising i can get from 0-29 XP in around 10mins (recent test I killed 138 Guardians in that 10 min period)
More pics (Updated)
Some more external shots. One side has an access shaft which runs the entire vertical length of the farm and leads to the Control room down below, and has stops at all accessible levels ...
The farm can be on or off. This is the spawn area. Again, it does waste a lot of space, but my tests have shown i could fill a double chest with drops within an hour and i still have surrounding caves to light up. The water flows are controlled by 20 dispensers. I do tend to get a bit of lag when the water is flowing down or dissapating, but it stops once the farm is fully on or off.
This is the funneling area, again the water is controlled by dispensers, 100+ in all. One thing with turning the farm on and off was i had to add a considerable delay for the funnelling dispensers so when the farm was deactivated, they stayed on a bit longer to flush any stragglers, as the water flow from the spawn area takes 20-30 secs to dissipate.
The area that was below the monument, As it was mostly just full of water down to four blocks, i simply drained it, half-slabbed it to prevent slimes spawning, and just left it. I rebuilt all the pillars. I quite like the lighting
Drop Zone
The control/AFK area, around 24 blocks below the centre of the funnelling area.
The sorting area and the On/Off control for the farm. Because of the delay i had to install for the funnelling dispensers, there is a lock system (which i called "pre-sequence", lol)which prevents the farm being turned on/off whilst the timer is active. The is also a lamp on the upper left which flicks on and off as items pass thru the sorting system. Just a visual to know it was working, but i left it in.
The XP Mode controls, now with some doors to stop the Guardians eyeballing me when i stand on the AFK spot (in the middle). The dispenser which fired the potions in i've left as is, but i've added a chest for the Instant Damage potions. To re-iterate, this mode works by dispensers firing water over the kill area so instead of buring to death, the weakened Guardians are channelled to the kill point behind the acacia doors..

I've spent the last week basically digging a hole in the ground, installing a pair of circular stairs of nether quartz blocks, lighting it with lava and lining the rest with obsidian. I've been tempted to post pictures of my progress, but not yet. I'm really, really, really trying to finish it before I start on something else, but I might have to go exploring or mining for a few days (or *anything* else) before I spend more time on the project...
Having spent the time and effort to build a slime farm, I've been forced to confront the major problem with the farm: I don't actually need the slime. I literally hadn't used a single slime ball from the farm.
So, what to do? Obviously use the slime blocks to decorate the hallway in the Nether that leads to the slime farm. Use a block I don't need to decorate a hallway I never use. The fact that it also slows me down when I walk on it is just a bonus. :-)
I actually like the little Nether cave that the slime farm portal is in, so I wasn't sure how to deal with the actual portal room. I tried to make it look like the slime was kind of leaking into the cave. (Of course, you'd expect it to be leaking FROM the portal TO the hallway, but never mind.)
I've started a new profile (game folder) based around the mod Millenaire.
So far, I've gotten most of my configuration set up, but I still need to put the Millenaire items and blocks into my Inventory Tweaks configuration.
I've found a village and have begun building a house a fair distance away from it. I've currently gotten the floorboards built but not much else.
I've also started the tunnel for my first deep mine.
I'm looking forward to playing with Millenaire since it will (hopefully) be a big change of pace for me.
That's the story thus far!
Wow you switch worlds a lot...
