i would like people to say what they think about the end poem.
like i think it is kind of a spiritual matrix.
what do you think.
Well, i have 2 theories.
The more likely theory, that i dont really believe that much:
Notch is trying to tell us to get out of video games, and go get a life. The reason i dont believe that, is because why would Notch tell people not to play his game? That doesnt make sense.
The not as likely theory, that i do believe alot:
If you look at the Herobrine story there is a big similarity. In the Herobrine story, you are a tortured person who creates a happy, subcnoscious mind to get rid of the torture. Well, Minecraft is that happy sub-conscious world. In real life, that you are being tortured in, you are Herobrine. In your subconscious, happy mind, you are Steve (The minecraft player.) And when people see Herobrine, thats really you trying to tell your subconscious mind to wake up.
Sorry if you dont understand what im saying about the herobrine theory. Its confusing XD If you have questions, ask me. Id LOVE to discuss!
Two enderman loom over the player after he has been transported back to the overworld. They speak to him through his thoughts. They have the conversation that is the end credits. The player awakens. He knows that there is much more to come and much more to do in his life, the eternal dream.
That, or Notch just put a corny story in so people think that it has some deep meaning because he is a troll.
dah little good theroy and i understand it completly but one problem with it herobrine was a killed torchered soul and at the end it says that you have made a difference and that real life is great. not in those words though.

Exactly. Herobrine was a tortured soul. You ARE herobrine, trying to tell your happy minecraft self to wake up, becuse then you could make a difference.
Also, im really hoping that Notch adds something to make the credits make sense. If thats the case, then my theory is pretty much dead.
EDIT: The endermen story would make sense as well. Like i said, that would require Notch adding something though. I really hope they do. Maybe new mobs start spawning whenever you beat the ender dragon? Who knows. All i know is that i dont think a bunch of XP and a bad ass fight is enough for an ending,
You, a person with personal troubles, nearly die and are severely injured in a car crash. As you are in a coma, you dream about a land full of happiness, where you can escape and be as creative and adventurous as you want. However, your troubled past comes back to haunt you in the form of the undead. As you venture through this world, you learn more and more about yourself, and eventually, you need to face your greatest fear: The ender dragon which is the spirit of your dad, who died in a house fire caused by you. As you defeat him, you start waking up. You can hear the voices of two doctors but you cannot make out what they are saying and you misinterpret their words. You wake up.
You ARE herobrine, trying to tell your happy minecraft self to wake up, becuse then you could make a difference.
That would be where I tell myself to get bent. Polluted Earth with billions of people making it worse or a clean world with just me and a small place to live out my remaining days where the water is clean and the air is fresh? Pffff.. no contest.
I feel that Notch was telling us the story of Minecraft and how he had a dream and accomplished it. Then it continues and talks to the player - you, me, whoever. The part about the universe, the atoms, the dreams, the life, etc. That is all about the you, as the player, going through all the wonder when you play Minecraft. Cause you see the images on the screen and experience it through the game. It tells us again that Minecraft is a simulation, a dream of the wild, or the wild place where we can explore and roam, which we can't do now, since we're stuck in houses/cities. It's basically a game where we can pretend to build things and explore in a open world, which we might not be able to do in real life. I think it means that all the stuff we've done isn't really real, but is a "dream". But that dream is something we should recognize and not dwell too much on, but we can remember it and use it to build bigger dreams in real life. Maybe Notch is saying to remember that you have dreams and can dream big and reach for the goals/dreams. (Probably referring to future life).
So long story short: Minecraft is an enlightening experience/dream that we can remember and use to achieve bigger dreams, just like Notch did? So it's time to recognize that we've "dreamed"/played enough, and should move on and work for bigger dreams (in real life) using the same determination/exploration/wonder/creativity that we've used in the Minecraft playing experience(the dream/simulation).
Might be slightly off, but this is what I think it is trying to convey.
The Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything.

My friend and I both thought that the meaning of the poem wasn't entirely related to Minecraft, and was more generally related to life. To sum it up we really thought the idea that life and purpose was just the universe trying to discover itself, we thought that idea was spiffy. I think the poem kept mentioning different games not only in reference to Minecraft or other video games, but kind of as mentioned, a spiritual Matrix; even "real life" is seen through a window or sunglasses or whatever.
and the universe said you are the universe tasting itself, talking to itself, reading its own code
and the universe said I love you because you are love.
And the game was over and the player woke up from the dream. And the player began a new dream. And the player dreamed again, dreamed better. And the player was the universe. And the player was love.
You are the player.
Wake up.
I think "wake up" in this case is more emphasizing that you need to realize something, not stop "dreaming", because that would go against the rest of the poem. I think the rest of the poem is emphasizing that the universe loves you, and that's what it wants you to realize when it says 'wake up'.

I think that the poem is trying to say that mine craft has become you, and you have gained much power. They say universe rather than mine craft. The last few lines are talking about how you dream that you ARE the universe. But the last lines "you are the player, wake up" indicated you are not as powerful as you think. Wake up, you are not the master of mine craft, just another player.
It is not a poem.
Notch is trying to tell us that we are staring at a computer screen thinking (at that time) that it's all happening. He is explaining that you are missing out on a lot of things. You should join the universe and you should go and be active. Notch is telling us well look back on this very moment when we are injured and think why we waisted it. I agree. I am not playing minecraft anymore, cause im ten and im my life is minecraft.
