I would really like to know your mining technique to get all those diamonds.
Pretty simple. Mine at y:10, 2 block high 1 block wide tunnels, standard branch method, branches 2 rows of stone 2 high separating each tunnel to maximize the exposure of block faces, using regular unbreaking III efficiency IV diamond pickaxes when going through, and using fortune III and/or silk touch I when I run into diamonds. If I put 12 hours of a day into doing that, I'll walk out with 64 blocks of diamonds.
Sorry, I meant f3 + h. It activates a tooltip that shows the durability of your tools. It was there that I discovered that you can wear a tool down to 0 durability before it breaks.
Yep, if I can add anything here - that's a vanilla feature (f3+h). That info about slimes is correct as well. Not even light level 15 (highest in minecraft) will stop them from spawning.
I've said enough in other thread about this project, so I won't repeat myself. A to you. Oh, crap you've got chests full of them. Nevermind then.
Maybe its because you are on a server... try it on a singleplayer world maybe?
It works on servers.
Just press F3 and then press H and then mouse over your tools. There should be a thing that says "Durablilty: Amount left/Original Amount"

It only works when you mouse over in the inventory so it would require you to go into your inv a lot.
Oh, so its the same as looking at it, so this would be useless lol. The problem with me breaking it is I forget to look down at the pickaxe to see that its just an empty, black bar, which means its time to switch. Stopping, opening my inventory, and putting my mouse over it would be entirely a waste of time.
I believe this was fixed in 1.7.1 but you used to be able to create obsidian by pouring lava on top of redstone lines. Not really sure if it's possible but maybe look into making an auto obsidian farm with that. If not, I think there is one that doesn't use that cheaty mechanic (portal creation..?).
You only need ~333,333 snowballs AFTER you get the farm working properly, haha. Glad you are continuing to update this.
I did 500,000 snowballs. But the project right now is on halt. I generated the snowballs faster than the 4 hoppers at the bottom could absorb, so I had many, many hours of entities maxing out, and now the server is all ed up. I completely cleared out all entities, but entities in particular get glitchy and crawly whenever I enter this area specifically, its all crisp when these chunks aren't loaded. I asked about how to fix this in server support, but I'm not getting any support. I might just have to roll the world back to monday, before I started snow farming. That would be a whole week gone.
You're a sucker for punishment! Seriously though, I admire your dedication to this project - I can't wait until it's completed, and will follow this thread until you do. Impressive work!
By using the wither to repeatedly break the end platform. The snowballs update the end platform, then they're dispensed at him so that he breaks the blocks.
Have you ever heard of the Dwarf Fortress build Planepacked? This reminds me of that. An ungodly large structure stuffed with an ungodly amount of items. Now all it needs it 73 images (maps) of itself on it.
I will have an answer for you on that very soon . . . :'D

Interesting build, though.
