So I've been working on an enderman farm, based off of Etho's design (From Ethoslab on Youtube). For those that don't know the basic idea is you end up with a bunch of weak (one hit from death) Endermen on a large platform. You stand under in an area less than three blocks high (so they can't reach you), look at them so they come to you and punch them all.
The problem I'm having is them teleporting onto the top of the area I'm standing under. Does anyone know of a way I could stop them doing this as it's rather annoying because they do a significant amount of damage :/
Don' give them room to teleport Add some layers of any material with 2block spaces between each layer. Just create something so that they don't have anywhere to teleport to except the killing area Hope I helped
Sorry for posting on an old post (I should really stop doing that) but does the whole "Not spawning through water currents" still work? Ive my own enderfarm 200 blocks away from the main end island which is fine but i have completely terraformed the whole of the end putting grass and trees all over in preperation for building an enderland with rollercoasters and a floating prison and castles etc... but the point is though i have stopped pretty much ALL endermen from spawning on the island through torches and 2high tree canopies but, i made a 4 high tunnel under the island and surrounded that area with water so they will spawn in there hpefully instead of if there are any odd little spaces they can spawn in, and then get stuck in there, preventing others from spawning! If anybodies interested in seeing this terraform and the enderfarm design so farm BTW, il post em if u ask.. or might put em on my profile if thats possible But anyway yeah, if anybody knows if the *Non teleporting through water currents works* thaty would put my mind at ease, TY
Yes, you can still make water curtains/currents to prevent enderman from teleporting. When they teleport into water, they take 2 damage, then teleport back to where they came from.

If by water curtains you mean a just a simple wall of water, no, I've tried it. It didn't work. They just disappeared and reappeared on the other side. Didn't touch the water, didn't take damage. Just disappeared, and reappeared. So unless I'm doing something wrong and I just misunderstood the water curtain idea, it doesn't seem like it works as of 1.6.4.
Quick side-note- I built a small-ish cube of stone with a water wall covering all sides outside, and even inside. It was tricky, but I got it working well enough. And they still just went right through it.
I remember hearing somewhere endermen can't teleport onto slabs...
Although, I could be wrong.

They cant teleport through endstone. What I did was I dug a hole into the ground a few blocks down, then hollowed out a cave 3 by 4 and then 3 blocks up. I then lined all the walls with end stone, and the roof and floors. turns out the endermen can teleport through so now I have an underground farm full of endermen you could do it above ground but it might now work
